Friday 8/20/10

We tried a new restaurant tonight.
Wycombe Pub & Grill.
WE often bike past & watched as the renovations came along.

It was cozy inside & everyone was friendly.
The beer selection was NOT great but as long
as they have Guinness Michael will drink that…..
even if it is served in a Coors Light pint glass…

We tried their WINGS & liked them.  We got the “911”
sauce on the side and were glad we did as it was
SUPER HOT!

the Chef salad was all right – I just think I am REALLY
spoiled by the awesome one I can get in the city with
fresh carved turkey & ham as opposed to what this
one had. This one did have home-made Russian
dressing so that was a bonus.

Michael ordered Prime Rib RARE … and as you can clearly see –
that is FAR from being RARE. If you like your Prime Rib well
done you would have liked it. Sides were just “ok”.

Verdict: I was a little disappointed because I really wanted to LOVE this place.

We were there a few years ago (it was AWFUL) then it was closed for a couple years.

As I said we watched the renovations. It looked like a FUN place we could go

& have a casual meal & drink. We weren’t too impressed with our first visit –

but – they’ve only been open a couple months so we WILL go back

& give them another chance. The owner has a restaurant background –

so maybe they just need to work out some kinks in a new business?

The staff were all very friendly – that’s always good!
