8/21/10
Today was a “crazy tournament day” for a plethora of reasons.
#1 ~ this was the first time my partner – Lana – and I played together.
2nd – the tournament was “old rules” –
what that means is: BIG court (an extra 3 ft longer than what we are accustomed)
& side out scoring (you only score when you serve)
3rd – the divisions were corrupt with “sandbaggers”
(players that enter at a level or two lower than they should)
hence, the day was full of challenges….

|
our friend PETE came along for a day at the beach.
We know Pete from volleyball & he is also friends
with our neighbors Roman & Denise.

Pete talking to one of the OPEN players. OPEN division is the highest you can play.
We played in the A division today –
and there was at least one Open player
in our pool sandbagging. Doesn’t give us a chance!

Lana & Me
~ we didn’t make it out of pool play but SHOULD HAVE.
No doubt, if it were a “regular” tournament we would
have made playoffs & maybe even won?
GREAT JOB playing Lana & FUN TIMES…..
We have LOTS of stories to go with the day…
that’s part of playing the tournament –
you need a good partner to have FUN with!
Mission accomplished….

& after playing all day we were HUNGRY!

Pete just came back from a month in Spain
as an exchange student – I wanted him to speak
Spanish to the workers.

If you are ANY WHERE near Belmar, Spring Lake, Pt Pleasant
& want Mexican Food – Jose’s is the ONLY place to go!
