Wednesday 9/29/10 Wine Research……..
Wednesday 9/29/10
As many of you know work at my current company has it ups & downs.
At times it seems more downs than ups though recently more UPS than downs.
Of course that would be the case because in the “down” times I’ve been
sending resumes out like crazy. I’d like a job: 1) that I LOVE, 2) where I can be productive,
& 3) be able to help people which brought me to the WINE JOB APPLICATION.
I forgot all about it because you know how it is applying for jobs in “Internet land”…
Next thing you know – I have an interview with Laird and Company (distiller & importer).
http://www.lairdandcompany.com/ for a Phila Sales Rep…..
we’ll see what happens! btw – Does ANYONE know this company?
Please instill me with your insight if you have scoop!

Helen’s “Homework” – drink wine! (well, more like a tasting)
~ I thought it might be cool if I went into the interview
& said Yes I am familiar with your products –
actually drank some last night….
started with two whites
~Vernaccia di San Gimignano
-(PIETRAFITTA ) fresh & fruit, fuller bodied
~ MAREGA PINOT GRIGIO – fruity
(not sweet) lighter bodies
3 reds
LABET
Pinot Noir – many of the outstanding qualities of a fine French
Burgundy at an everyday price.
Burgundy at an everyday price.
ANTONELLI
Sagrantino di Montefalco -This wine must be made with 100% Sagrantino grapes.
Often compared to itsneighbor, Brunello di Montalcino.
SANTA SOFIA
SANTA SOFIA AMARONE – Intense bouquet with a delicate, full, warm and velvety taste.

The wine line-up.

All were drinkable (there were no Yellow Tails in this line up!)
& we each had our favorites. I had a few helpers because
we each have different palates when tasting. I wanted to get
opinions across the board.

My research assistants – neighbors Vanessa

(left) & Deb (right).
~ Vanessa & I both LOVED the Amarone & Deb liked them ALL!

The best way to feel better about yourself
is to do something worthy of your own respect:
keep a difficult resolution, meet a challenge, solve a problem,
learn a skill, cross something unpleasant off your to-do list.
And one of the best ways to feel better about yourself
is to help someone else — do good, feel good.
always positive,
Helcha 🙂
