(that’s his statue on top of city hall)
Happy 328th Birthday, Philadelphia!
Lookin??? good!
|
so very excited to get unexpected “Dessert Mail” !!!!
|
(that’s the mail you save for last…..)
it was from my friend Brenda who I’ve known for
20 years now – We met while working at the
brokerage firm Janney Montgomery Scott.
I love having longtime friends – ones that even
though you don’t see each other often, when you
do see them, it’s like there was never a lapse.
|
sister Pat made us home-made “hoagies” (subs).
Why do these taste better than what you get in the store?
Later tonight I’m going to a movie which will
tell me WHY we shouldn’t eat this –
so I’m trying to enjoy it now….

sister PAT, for those who don’t know, teaches at
Archbishop Ryan HS in Philadelphia.
|
She teaches physical education & health.
This is an activity she created for her class –
it’s like Jeopardy – it helps keep them interested.
She NEVER (EVER) lectures – every class is
taught as an activity. Where were teachers like
her when I went to School????
FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.

If you have a chance to see the movie – GO SEE IT!
