Tuesday Lunar Eclipse 12/21/10

Lunar Eclipse 12/21/10

Did you happen to see the ECLIPSE Tuesday very early???

Multiple astronomical events lined up for a rare display
of synchronization as a total lunar eclipse overlaps with 2010’s winter solstice.

Early morning December 21, the full moon was darkened by Earth’s shadow
as our planet passes between it and the sun.

We got up at 2:30 a.m. for the Lunar Eclipse Vigil

B

This was probably about 3 a.m. or so…

C

Ta- Da — the total eclipse of the Moon —
isn’t there a song something like that??

oh — it’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart“….

E

Here is an ACTION  SHOT of the Eclipse.

I hope you enjoyed today’s Science Lesson 🙂

Yes Stef – it was really COOL. My friend said – if were really "happening" we would have had an ECLIPSE party with Moon Pies, Crescent Rolls & Cheese. I guess I wasn’t thinking!
