Today we skied Elk Mountain – a favorite of ours.
Probably about 2.5 hours from Ivyland, hence why we generally
don’t do day trips here – they are always overnighters.

waiting in line for first tracks.
the ONLY line we were in all day.
I said to Michael the clouds looked like a “bump run”
in the ski. Bump runs are moguls.
Moguls = A small hard mound or bump on a ski slope.

I never get pictures of me skiing so I volunteered
Michael to take a few photos. Here I am coming

We celebrated the New Year’s with dinner in downtown Scranton
– about 11 minutes from our hotel called Thai Rak Thai.
We’ve eaten there before & it is quite good.

Michael enjoyed:
# 87. Curry Steak
Grilled rib eye steak and bell peppers, string beans,
kaffir lime leaves and homemade curry sauce.
|
|
|
|
I went with an old standby:
# 52. Drunken Noodles Stir-fried flat noodles with beef with broccoli,
onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, eggs, chili and basil leaves

We discovered this really awesome bar
around the corner from the restaurant.
The Backyard Alehouse:

They had a plethora of GOOD beers on tap as well
as case full of them!

|
|

They were having a New Year’s Eve party.
We didn’t stick around for that – we wanted to get up
early to SKI some more!!!

|
|

Scranton has a cool Light Show that you can drive
through for FREE. so we did this before going back to
the hotel & passing out before midnight….
