Saturday 4/30/11
Been training for the Metro Dash for months now & I was ready to
JUST DO IT.
The Metro Dash course is set up in an area the size of an NFL football field.
Competitors will sprint a total of 600 meters while climbing, crawling, jumping,
swinging, and scaling their way through 30 challenging obstacles.
Here is the course:
Teammates
Judith – i know from biking
Sandy – i know from volleyball
and Kim – i know from the gym
MICHAEL – our equipment manager
& official photographer
friend Jenn & her husband Eric – I know them from volleyball.
Jenn was racing in the wave after ours
the 6th obstacle – 15 foot Cargo net climb
i added “try to kill yourself obstacle” to the course
because I fell about 4 feet onto the concrete –
landing on my back & smashing my head into the ground.

POSITIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY ———————————————————-
Nothing ever becomes real until it is experienced.

“The bottom line in longevity is consistent and clear:
be active until you can’t.
Stay connected and engaged.
Try new things and challenge yourself.
These are the common themes
among those who live into their later years,”

So it looks like you did well! Congratulations. I would have failed at the monkeybars. I couldn’t do them as a kid and I still can’t!
Monkeybars are VERY challenging. We all needed help in that department!
I made your blog…nice! Thanks for including us :)Great strategy rolling under the barbed wire…I didn’t think of that.
