Amarula is a cream liqueur manufactured in South Africa.
It is made with sugar, cream and the fruit of the African Marula tree.
When you first pour the Amarula you’ll notice a creamy color with a slightly lighter body than Bailey’s. Amarula Fruit Cream has a very interesting flavor – almost like caramel, but not quite. At first taste you’ll be reminded of Bailey’s or another cream liqueur but then the hidden flavor of the marula fruit comes out of the cream; you can then sit back & enjoy the decadent flavor that no other liqueur provides. Amarula Fruit Cream is one of the best tasting cream liqueurs I have ever had & after you try it I think you may be saying the same thing! Keep this a secret as the more popular it gets, the fewer bottles will be on the shelf for those of us in the know!
***As a side note: The elephant is a great part of the Amarula branding, as it is a symbol of Africa; their product is strongly connected with these magnificent animals. Amarula donates money to one of the top elephant research programs in South Africa.
