NOVEMBER 2012 gobble gobble
Nothing sets the mood better than a sparkling wine.
ALWAYS with big family gathers (even small ones)
I like to start off with a little BUBBLY.

LAMARCA PROSECCO comes from Italy.
Prosecco serves as an increasingly popular alternative to
Champagne and is Italy’s answer to refreshing,
well-made sparkling wine at a reasonable price.

Gloria Ferrer Sparkling Wine.
For California Sparkling Wines I
ALWAYS go back to Gloria.
We have a history – try her.
Delicate pear and floral notes backed by toasty almond.
On the palate, one finds lively citrus, toast and apple flavors overlaid
with persistent effervescence, a creamy mid-palate and toasty finish.

and here is the Real Deal :
Piper-Heidsieck Champagne.
We can call this Champagne because it is FROM Champagne, France. Do you know that story?
Firm and lightly toasty, this offers ripe flavors of
candied orange peel, grilled nuts and ground ginger.
Shows fine balance and a pleasant juiciness that builds
to the mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2020.

I like a Pinot Noir with my Thanksgiving Dinner.
It is probably the most popular red choice for Turkey.
Helen’s 3 suggestions in order of price
- Smoking Loon
- Pinot Project
- Wild Horse

You say you don’t want RED WINE
& you really would rather have WHITE?

Let’s get crazy & get something off the charts….
Gruner Veltliner
Gruner Veltliner pairs well with a number of foods.
Its naturally high acid and full-bodied texture
make it a versatile and exotic alternative to Chardonnay.

Gruner Veltliner ~ GREAT WITH POULTRY
I can’t ignore one of my all time favorites:
Kung Fu Girl Riesling…….mmmmm
(no, I am not sweet says kung fu girl)
~ light to medium body with flavors of red apple, apricot & peaches.
Splurge wine – a “buttery” Chardonnay.
Ask Joyce – she can explain!
You won’t go wrong with this choice. Trust me.
If you MUST do a BIG RED – I’d go this direction.
Marietta Angeli Cuvee.
This is a blend predominant in Zinfandel,
with very soft tannins that would be
a nice complement to your meal.
IT’s Not that PINK stuff but the yummy red one.
Let me know if you want this –
I think we only have a few bottles left!!
Believe me – You Want Some!

Seghesio makes a nice Zinfandel too.
~ Very dark purple colored Zinfandel with a very inviting blueberry bouquet ~ hints of blackberry jam.
On the palate, this wine is medium bodied,
juicy & fruit forward. Very tasty black raspberry
with notes of black pepper and blackberry.
The finish is dry and its moderate tannins.

What’s for DESSERT????
Choco Vine – ORIGINAL
ChocoVine is a French Cabernet
combined with dark chocolate from Holland.
Don’t laugh – get a bottle & share with
family & friends. A great after dinner treat.
AMARULA
– another one I Love…. & you will too.
Creamy color with a slightly lighter body than Bailey’s.
~ Better than Bailey’s AND it helps the elephants.
You can’t drink just one glass, really…
right Tanya??
last on the dessert list —
do you like: Tequila & Coffee??
If you answered YES to that question
you can’t NOT LIKE Patron XO Cafe.
Patron XO Cafe marries 100% agave
silver tequila with coffee to create a
slightly sweet, full-bodied and assertive liqueur.
