April 16th Tuesday NJ Co-op Tasting 2013

April 17, 2013

4/16/13

I had the good fortune to be invited to the
NJ Co-op Tasting described as:

1000+ wines. Fifteen distributors.
Five hours. One venue.

It was a great opportunity to taste some superb wines
& network with those in the industry.
It’s similar to when I was on Wall Street,
it’s a small community & it seems everyone
knows someone. One big family all interconnected.

Coffee for the ride….
It’s going to be a long night!
really, 1000+ wines…….
Outside my hotel the skies were ominous.
A perfect night for a wine tasting!
the Co-op wine tasting was held here:
Garden State Exhibit Center
50 Atrium Drive, Somerset, NJ
It was a non-descript warehouse & all spread out.
A lot less crowded than last year but lacked
the charm & intimacy of a wine tasting.
I always run into friend Andrea.
She is a buyer for a wine store in NJ.
Andrea & I attended WSET wine classes together.
She has a phenomenal palate.
Me & Dick Phillips.
Dick owns Phillips Fine Wines in Stockton, NJ.
I’ve known Dick for over a dozen years & have
shopped at his store for a long time.
He has stellar wine selection.

We liked MANY of the wines tried tonight.
These were a few of our favorites from
Tempranillo, Inc.
Scott Gerber of Martin Scott Wines
(he’s TALL – that’s why he stooped down!)
and Bryce – my wine rep when I was at
“the store”….

It all worked out in the end –
my new venture with Winebow is phenomenal.
It’s hard to describe how excited I am to
work with such a great company with
a tremendous territory.
Lucky Me. Lucky Them.

remember – send me all your referrals!
restaurant owners/managers in the Philly burbs!

“Divert your eyes before you are blinded by my Awesomeness”~said Axl on the TV show The Middle
friend Andrea with my former Wine Rep Ryan
and his fiance’ Christine.
Wrapping up the FIVE hour wine tasting.
I know, tough job, someone has to do it!
Thank you Peter for the Co-op Tasting Invite.Peter works for Tempranillo, Inc & has been
very supportive & helpful in my career transition.
I strive for these qualities.
It’s a good list!
