2/20/13

Img_7878
Made a BLT for lunch today – is there such a thing
as TOO MUCH BACON ??? – nah, I didn’t think so…
Img_7883
I haven’t been feeling good & took a nap on the
dog bed in the Sunny Reading Room with Chester.
He didn’t mind sharing!
Img_7885
My table all set up with tonight’s tasting
Img_7888
Me & my wine.  I always have to recruit a customer
or employee to take my photo.
Img_7891
Tonight I poured Chocolate Wine
& Roscato (red moscato) which neighbor Chris
was glad to get after the tasting.
What would I do with these wines?

Img_7892
Also on the tasting table were two Champagnes.
A Brut & a Rose’. Both were fabulous
& I sold none – they are kind of pricey.
$40 & $60
Img_7893
The Newtown Liquor store is FABULOUS.
If you need to buy wine let me know & I will
happily go shopping for you!!!

Img_7894
Anyone need some BITCHES????
Img_7895
You’ll find them at the PA Liquor store but not in mine.
Img_7896
Stopped at my brother’s house for a visit.
Raymond & Rosemary live near the liquor store.

Tuesday 2/19/13 dogs, WORK, boats, trains & gunman

Tuesday 2/19/13

Img_7865
It’s a dog’s life –
Chester relaxing before breakfast
Img_7866
Weasel wants breakfast in bed.

I’m coming back as a dog in my next life!

Img_7868
We have this tasty Chocklat Stout at work.
I had some the other day & LOVED it.

Img_7869
Do you need any? If so, let me know.
We don’t have much left.

Img_7870
I thought it would be smooth sailing coming home
from work. It started with this. A traffic jam due
to a Bridge opening.
Img_7871
Then I encountered this – a train crossing –
not a huge delay, but still….
Img_7873
And to top it off – a standoff with a gunman had
traffic snarled at Street Rd & Davisville

Img_7876
Too much excitement for one night –
it was an hour & half hour ride home…..
that’s double for this time of night.
oh well. I made it home safely.

Img_7878
I came home to this card that friend Shannon from Arizona
randomly sent me — YAY — just what I needed after
 a looooong day…..
Img_7879
I haven’t been feeling well so I had a little
SNAP & tea…..mmmmmmm

Clams Casino Linguine

Img_7846

Clams Casino Linguine

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup chopped red peppers

1 cup chopped onions

6 cloves garlic, minced

4 cans minced clams in clam juice ( or 1lb chopped – i get them at Wegmans)

1 bottle of clam juice (if using the fresh ones form Wegmans)

1 cup dry white wine

4 tablespoons butter

12 slices bacon (or more), fried and crumbled

1 pound linguine

Boil a pot of water for pasta and cook according to directions.

While pasta is cooking, heat a skillet on medium heat and add olive oil. Add chopped onions and peppers with a pinch of salt and saute until soft, about 8 minutes. Add garlic and stir for 30 seconds. Add clams + juice and bring the mixture to a boil. Add white wine and let mixture simmer for about 5 full minutes. Stir in butter.

Turn heat down to low and add cooked linguine. Toss to allow the noodles to soak up the sauce. Add crumbled bacon.

Serve with crusty bread.

* this is the basic recipe.  feel free to experiment.  it is darn good!

2/15/13 pretzels, beer, WING LEE, fun stuff……

2/15/13

Img_7821
Once a week I like to treat my coworkers to
Philadelphia Soft Pretzels. Racking up brownie points.

Img_7822
Friend Vinny took this picture of his dog in the
Connecticut snow storm. He is am amazing photographer.
Check out more of his work here:

Img_7823
friend Shannon sent me a picture of this beer
she found in her liquor store.
Wonder why she thought of me???  lol

Img_7824
Construction in the neighborhood.
Neighbor Deb was having leaking pipe issues –
they had to dig up her lawn to find the problem!

Img_7825
After work we went to my new favorite Chinese restaurant.
Wing Lee – have you been??
you won’t be disappointed!

Img_7826
Michael brought a Wipe Out IPA by Port Brewing.
Wing Lee is a byob – that’s a bonus for us as
we are particular about our adult beverages.

Img_7827
I ordered some boneless spareribs as an appetizer –
something I would never make at home & rarely
would even eat. But once in awhile I like them.
