We saw this license plate on the way over.

Can YOU decipher it?? I got it right away.

– this was our word of the day at Toastmasters.

The proper way to use the word is as indicated in the above sentence ….

NOT like this as my friend Jesse suggested:

I was in Marshall’s and saw THIS:

I gave Danny’s girlfriend a good luck MONKEY on Monday

when she went to take (& PASS) her Paramedic exam.

He is now known as Paramagic Monkey & has shown up

in various locations!

to share with us. I wasn’t sure if I was happy about that.

The gesture was nice but the cookies were good which

means one had to eat them…..

NV Jaume Serra Cristalino Sparkling Wine CAVA

NV Jaume Serra Cristalino

Champagne & Sparkling Wine

“Brut Traditional Cava”

Grape blend: Macabeo, Parellada, Chardonnay & Xarel-lo (traditional Cava grapes)

This light yellow colored Cava has bouquet that hints of apple.

On the palate, this sparkler is light bodied, crisp and easy going. The flavor seems to have traces of lemon & lime with pear undertones. The finish is pleasant but has a slight mineral aftertaste.

This would make a great sparkling wine to use for making mimosas or spiking with some Chambord, but could be drinkable by itself.

Would pair well with caviar, sushi, seafood, fried foods, and Asian dishes.

12/20/11 Tuesday train into the city, Reading Terminal, Wrapping gifts

I had an appointment in the city today & was

THRILLED to be able to take the train.

I got a new train & am still not quite certain

where First Class is…….

of course I got stuck sitting next to two Chatty Cathy’s

that didn’t stop talking the ENTIRE trip.

I guess I should have found a seat in the

Quiet Car!!

After my appointment I had the chance to stop

at Reading Terminal which is an awesome Farmer’s

Market & more……

they had a Holiday Railroad exhibit on display

It was quite elaborate!

on my way to the train I got this Photo

This is Love Park in NYC.

My friend sent this to me last month.

Asked a random Stranger to snap this photo opp of me

being SANTA!

There was a Horn & Hardart on the way to

the train. They were a Philadelphia Icon of

Automated Food when we were growing up.

Who remembers them???

gathered gifts & got wrapping….

Christmas is DAYS away & I have NO spare time

between now & then.

Monday December 19th 2011 Princeton, NJ

Monday December 19th 2011

Danny was taking his girlfriend Rachael to Princeton, NJ

(about an hour from Ivyland)

where she was taking a written Paramedic exam.

He asked if I wanted to come along to hang out

while Rachael was taking the exam.

Sister Pat came along too. Family day 🙂

Ik-Joong Kang of New York, NY created “Happy World,” a mixed media wall installation for the lobby featuring 3,700 paintings and carvings by the artist interspersed with artifacts and words contributed by the community.

“Happy World” filled one whole wall in the library.

It was quite cool!

used books for sale.

I didn’t get any but I wanted to…….

NO HORSEPLAY!!!

Dang, I had a horse in my pocket —

I should have had that in the picture.

We found a SPICE store & of course bought some

SPICES!!

next was an office supply store —

NEEDED cards b/c I still send them –

for birthdays at least — not Christmas,

usually.

After Rachael was finished

PASSING HER PARAMDIC EXAM

— congratulations Rachael—-

we went for lunch.

We ate at WILDFLOWERS in Pennington, NJ

on our way home.

12-18-11 Santa Claus, Rescue Dog Jazzie, family dinner

12-18-11

Our bike club does an annual SANTA ride.

We end up at an orphanage & give all the kids toys!!

(this was Saturday)

Sunday morning — Chester sleeping in —

& being a BED HOG! all 80 lbs of him!

Today, sister Pat, friend Joyce & I took a ride to

this Humane Society to visit a dog I saw on Facebook.

She is a Vizsla (like Weasel & Chester), named Jazzie.

She was left behind in someone’s house when they moved out. I just don’t get some people. It is so sad.

They had this great Christmas tree with all kinds

of cool stuff for the animals.

This was one of the workers saying goodbye

to Jackie who was going to her FUREVER home.

She was a nice dog though Jazzie didn’t pick us for her

FUREVER HOME.

She was friendly but we didn’t seem to

have the Vizsla Chemistry.

I wanted to love her & take her home but it just wasn’t

feeling right; plus we were concerend about being a

3 dog family. Do you think she could use the dog door?

We had a family dinner tonight. Everyone was home

& all the animals were at dinner too.

This very rarely happens. It was nice.

Saturday 12-17-11 Wine, dead deer (really), Neighbors, Amarula

Saturday 12-17-11

How Funny — A customer brought US a bottle

of wine to try today!!! Gotta love my job!!

It was quite good too.

It was confirmed.

This deer was not sleeping on the side of the road,

it was dead, sadly 😦

We were supposed to have dinner with Danny & his

new girlfriend Rachael but on the way Danny hit this deer.

He & Rachael were fine, deer was not.

Well, we still had to eat so Michael & I went over

to Taormina’s & found some neighbors having dinner

so we joined in the festivities.

Remember we were at Taormina’s earlier in the week?

I left behind some souvenirs & they were still there!

Even the handicapped elephant is still there!

Kalaripayatu fighters practicing on a beach in North Kerala. This photo was taken with no special setup, just during a regular practicing session. I was using a kite to lift the camera, in order to remain steady above the subject for more than an hour, without disturbing.
