Monday July 1st 2013 paper Work, hand doctor, wine work

Monday July 1st 2013

seriously….
WHEN did July 2013 arrive??
Wasn’t it Just June???
are we going to be saying this about August too?
then September??
Where does time go??

This is sort of my plan…
did you know I am Marvelous on Monday’s
Terrific on Tuesday’s
Wonderful on Wednesdays
& so forth??
try it, it’s FUN 🙂

WE had some wicked storms here.
My iPhone was screaming, literally with that
emergency broadcast sound.
You know the one….

This is a test…this is only a test…
Not Really — this time, as you can read —
this was A REAL FLOOD WARNING…

it was quite wet & rainy!

Working from home on a Rainy Day is NICE!
Lots of paper work – my job is NOT all about
just drinking wine….really!
(despite what people think)

Quick — Where am I????

back at the Hand Doctor’s 😦
My Trigger Thumb has returned….
I’m back for that Cortisone shot.
Let’s hope the shot CURES me this time –
otherwise it’s the BIG S for me…..
(surgery….)

on another note – if your hand needs attention
I LOVE this doctor:

Dr Shin with the Hand Center

AFTER the shot.
I think the Novocain to numb my hand before the needle
hurts worse than the needle?

In trigger thumb, also known as stenosing tenosynovitis
(stuh-NO-sing ten-o-sin-o-VIE-tis),
your thumb gets stuck in a bent position and then straightens
with a snap — like a trigger being pulled and released.
If trigger finger is severe,
your finger may become locked in a bent position.

in Doylestown.

I didn’t get an order today – but I WILL!

this is NOT an exit….really?

about who they are……

Sunday 6/30/13 Saving a bird, making dinner for friends & family!

Sunday 6/30/13

this baby Tree Swallow seemed like he did not want
to leave the nest. He kept trying to fly away, but didn’t.

That’s when I realized his foot was caught on a string
& he physically could NOT fly away.

Parents bombing me as I help their baby

free at least, but exhausted from the struggle

I spent part of the day in the kitchen making these
tasty concoctions for dinner.
Pesto (made with mixed nuts salvaged from trail mix)
My famous Roasted Peppers,
Truffle butter
& cheesy garlic bread

Dinner guests neighbors Denise, Roman & Deb.
Michael & Pat too!

Beer Dessert…mmmm Chocolate Stout!

Then & Now, cute right?

Listen to your friends
…even when they are not speaking!

Saturday June 29th 2013 Beach Volleyball, Ragin’ Cajun

Saturday June 29th 2013

oops – I hate when this happens.
A battery never dies at a convenient time!
like 7 in the morning when I am headed
to a beach tournament…..

Let go of what you can’t control.
(and change what you can!)

Great American Volleyball Tournament
Point Pleasant Beach, NJ

(1 hour 15 minutes from Ivyland)

It was a great day, sunny with some clouds.

THEN this came along – but still no rain!

My partner Diana behind me in red
we took 2nd Place this week!
We beat Rebekah (pink) and Johanna (blank pants).
Gabriella in white lost to Bekah & Johanna.

We stopped at a liquor store & got some of this.
Sounds yucky but you never know.
We had a S’mores beer that was delicious.
Will let you know!

Ragin’ Cajun is always one of our favorite go to
restaurants after a long day.

It is in Belmar on our way home.

I tried the crawdaddies – like little lobsters.
They were a lot of work for a little meat.
I was hungry after eating them.

We had two cool servers today.
Should have gotten their pictures.
Jeffrey & Kayla

soooooooooon little doggie….

Friday June 28th 2013

My center city office AFTER our meeting.
I really only come here at most once a week.

later in the day I had an appointment here.
It went well. I have to figure out some wines
to show them.

I met with Erica, do you know her??

stopped at my brother’s house & saw the basenjis
and my sister-in-law Rosemary.
They live in Newtown, where the Temperance House
is located.

Thursday 6/27/13 gym, WORK, Chester, biking, RAIN, Bread & Beer tasting

Thursday 6/27/13

Started the day with a class at the gym.
love the flexibility of my job that I can do this.
My first appointment today at Maggio’s –
thanks to Danny Diehl ( he knew Sam the manager).
They have these COOL wine flight holders.
I think every bar /restaurant should have these!
Chester telling me NOT to ride my bike tonight.
The skies were threatening & there was a Tornado Watch.
Baby barn swallows in the roof of the pavilion at the park.
Mom swooping in to feed them – can you see???
Scary Skies – I better get home.
I rode 5 miles which is better than no miles??
THEN the rain came…..
Chester hiding in the closet
Torrential rains — see the river flowing down the street?
LOOK across the street – Lily running in the rain.
How FUN 🙂
Since I was bragging about the Pastabilities bread
friend TIM suggested we try bread from Columbus Bakery.
we did a bread tasting along with our normal Thursday night
beer tasting……AND the verdict was:Hands down

Hands down —– PASTABILITIES bread was the winner!!

6/26.2013

I love getting Fan Mail —
as you all know my alias is Leopard —
you may not have known about the Basillette part..
this letter was from friend Denise who attended
High School with me at St Basil Academy

Not too busy at 9 a.m.
First appointment was at KENNY’s in Southampton.
We bike with the owner & he was gracious enough
to schedule an appointment with me.
I think I can help them!!

behind the scenes at another account.
Very Clean I am happy to report.

Met with the guys who run Farmer’s Daughter in Blue Bell.
These guys need help. Hoping I am the one.
First thing – they wondered why they didn’t sell
many flights of wine…..$19/flight —
I have an idea…….

NOW what do I do with ELEVEN open bottles of wine??
hmmmmmm

neighbors Kim, MB & Denise came over & tried them!
PLUS, as a bonus I was able to practice my wine stories
with them. Thanks for helping girls!
Who is interested in helping for the next tasting??
