Img_6190
GYM was packed today.
Everyone was working off Thanksgiving dinner
in advance….good thinking!
Img_6191
I do not know why this is on display
but men were reclining while their wives shopped!

Who uses a CART in the liquor store?

Img_6192
Do you know what these are?
And if so, Where in a liquor store would you look for them?
Img_6193
Tasting wine at school!
It sounds FUN, & it is but it is
REALLY CHALLENGING!
Img_6194
We learned about SPARKLING WINES tonight.
There are 3 methods to make them:
Traditional, Tank & Transfer method.
There, you learned something new!

Img_6195
ahhh Wine & Cheese – exactly!
I never drink “alone”……

Img_6196
Chester showing us his shaved Belly.
He had an ultrasound today which confirmed
what we suspected. He DEFINITELY has
doggie Pancreatitis.  He will be on antibiotics for
2 weeks & a low fat diet for LIFE!
No fat for him. The Doctor said FAT for
Chester is POISON.  Please do not feed Chester
ANY snacks when you are over our house.
He could DIE!

Img_6197
Chettie, sleeping soundly, better than ME!

Img_6198
the cat is BATMAN – HA!!

Monday 11/19/12 Chester to Veterinarian for diagnosis, volleyball, Iron Abbey

Monday 11/19/12

Img_6165
Poor Chester – he kept extending his neck like
he was in pain – I took this photo for the Doctor
Img_6172
Chester on the way to Valley Vet

Img_6176
Chester is NOT happy.
Going to the veterinarian is one of his
least favorite things to do!

Img_6177
Chester getting examined & diagnosed
Img_6178
Chester Diehl
Img_6180
X-Ray ruled out that he had BLOAT &
indicated he may have pancreatitis.

He has to get an ultrasound to confirm what is suspected.

Img_6182
After work today I had a Volleyball double header.
We won one game — our team isn’t the greatest
but it is fun getting out & playing!

Img_6185
After Volleyball I met up with Michael & friend Jim
at the Iron Abbey. It was time for some
decompressing.  It was a BUSY & tiring weekend
with Chester, then today it was crazy.
Went to the Vet, right to work then to volleyball.
Just needed a little relax time!

Img_6188
Saw 11:11 on my phone –
I always think this is a LUCKY SIGN –
of what, I don’t know!

November 18th 2012 Chester to the Emergency Room Vet

November 18th 2012

Img_6151
Chester was not acting like Chester.
He was pacing & panting, laying in the grass
“sphinx style”, stretching & acting extremely
uncomfortable. I was concerned.
sister PAT & I took him to the ER Vet
late Saturday night & were there until
early Sunday morning.
Img_6153
Chester Rose Butt Sniffer – the patient.

Chester is dying & I’m taking pictures…..

Img_6154
The dog in this placard reminded me of a Vizsla.
Chester was already in the back with a Veterinarian
getting X-Rays when I took this picture.
Don’t worry I didn’t delay any further!
Img_6155
The animal ER was quite busy. You can’t see
everyone but there were people & animals
in other rooms. I thought they needed another
Vet to handle all the sick animals.
Img_6156
this doggie got to go home – I don’t know what
his problem was but he was very Friendly!
A few other animals didn’t get to go home….

Img_6159
The $685 cup of coffee – who knows WHY??

Img_6161
Chester Rose Butt Sniffer – the patient.

The ER VET wasn’t sure what was wrong with him.
He had a 104 fever & VERY high heart rate.
His pancreas levels & white blood cell counts
were OFF THE CHART.
She wanted to keep him until Monday but he
was very unhappy there – so we got instructions
from the Vet & brought him home.
(& saved a lot of money too.)

Img_6162
Chester very uncomfortable. Me too.

Img_6165
He was doing this thing with his neck.
Kept sticking it out & stretching it.
Looking forward to getting some answers.
Hopefully my regular vet can take him ASAP.

Img_6167
Besides tending to Chester
I spent my day STUDYING.
I cannot do enough.
My wine exam is December 11th.
Any volunteers to sit for me???

We love our doggies!!!!

Friday 11/16/12 Beaujolais is here, COOL VINES & Blue Point Grill

Friday 11/16/12

Img_6115
stopped to get pretzels for the co-workers
& was trying to find out WHY they had to
throw out that trash can full of pretzels.
Due to a language barrier I never found out!

Img_6116
Beaujolais Noveau is here!!!
This is a young wine released each year the
3rd Thursday of November.
It is pressed young so it is quite fruity
& slightly tart.  No complexity here.
The 2012 vintage is vibrant,
fruit-forward and best served chilled.

Who needs some??
LMK ASAP!

Img_6117
After work Michael & I drove to Princeton, NJ
to check out this store COOL VINES.

Img_6118
I was scoping it out as a potential job.
Also – this may be the location of
my first tasting that I do for St Germain.

Img_6119
We went to the BLUE POINT GRILL for dinner.
It is a BYOB & has seafood – a great combination for me!

Img_6120
Blue Point was a cute little place
& you really need reservations.
Img_6121
We lucked out & got seats at the raw bar.
We actually prefer these seats because you
get a show with the meal!
Img_6122
Watching all the cooks work & sweat!!!
Quite the production.

11/15/12

Img_6083

looking good that day?
I NEEDED to get the roots done, really.

Img_6084
DURING
~this is what it looks get your hair highlighted
instead of dyeing the whole head
Img_6087
AFTER
~a little darker than I like but my girl
assured me that it would lighten up.

———————————————————–

We haven’t had beer school/tasting in awhile
so since Michael had an eclectic collection
we invited some friends over & tasted some
new & old beers.

Img_6088
We started with this one & it was probably
one of the favorites of the night.

Img_6089
Barking Squirrel – I admit it…..
We only bought this one bc of the
Squirrel on the label – wasn’t very good 😦
Img_6101
Joyce (SWF) trying to not be in the picture which
looks sillier than if she would just smile!
How can we find her a date if she is hiding?

Img_6105
Me & friend Bobby.
I picked up some wine for Bobby for a party he’s having.
“WINOSAUR” at your service – that’s ME!

Bobby & I have been friends for about 20 years.
We worked together at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

Thursday 11/15/12 Jim Donovan author/speaker at Bucks County Community College

Thursday 11/15/12

Img_6059
Today I attended a seminar at
Bucks County Community College.

They have a gorgeous campus as it backs
up to Tyler State Park.

Img_6063
The event was being held in this building
THE ORANGERY.
It is NOT orange & I do not know the history
of the building name but next time I am there
I’ll do some investigative research!

Img_6073
Today, author/lecturer Jim Donovan
was speaking – the Topic was:

“Taking Charge of Your Life”
~How to stop chasing rainbows and
land the job that fits you perfectly.

Img_6076
What you tell yourself over & over
becomes what you BELIEVE!!

Karen Demmler & her colleague
run the Encore Career Institute (ECI)
at BCCC.

“Whether you have been laid off, are returning to work, changing careers,
are finding that retirement is not an option, or you need to explore
potential strategies as you reconsider employment.”

I have quite a few friends that have recently
been laid off from work. Associating with
this organization would be GREAT for you.

I am going to the next informal Job Club meeting
on November 29th if you would like to join me.
