I like to get exercise out of the way –

that way I don’t have to create excuses

later not to do it……

speaking of CHESTER — I wonder who ate

ALL the chicken jerky?????

was hard to get – one per customer –

even though I got two —

one for friend Jim!

friend Jim tried his luck with the Spiral Hot Dogs –

if anyone else tries them send me your pictures.

I think Jim’s dogs came out pretty good!

I went to TD Bank all by myself!

I had to make a deposit for saint (sister) Pat

the Teller had to help me — I didn’t know I needed

a deposit slip – I thought you just gave them the check –

that’s what you do at my Credit Union.

we’ve been having nice weather — but where

sister Pat is – in Charleston, SC, it is not so nice.

Charleston, SC – kayaking through a market place.

Pat said when they came home from the hospital

they had to use the cab service (which is a State Trooper).

So,essentially, they had to call the cops.

She said the water was right below their knees

& could not walk home with my dad.

everything is going to be alright….(let’s hope!)

Monday August 27th 2012 Paddleboarding! job, "manicure"

Despite the weather……

Friend Pete & I were determined

to go Paddleboarding today…

We got rained out once before & today we

thought we’d take a chance & hope it

wasn’t raining where we were going…..

sometimes you just have to get going –

even if conditions are not perfect

and here we are at Marsh Creek State Park –

gorgeous!! No rain.

YAY!! We finally got to try Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP).

It was fun & we are looking forward to going again.

Pete enjoyed it too!

They are fairly expensive ($1000) but sometimes

you can buy a used one for less $$$.

I was telling Pete about the kayaks you pedal –

and it just so happens our friend Andy has

one for sale!!!

When I came home I had a phone message

from Bill Bruno of Southern Wine & Spirits.

He was calling me about a job I was

going to apply for today. They had my

resume on hand from other jobs I had

applied to but didn’t get hired. (yet)

Does ANYONE know Bill Bruno or

anyone at Southern Wine & Spirits??

let me know….

I do HOPE things go well with the in person meeting.

At the same time — I’ve put a lot of effort getting

to this point….day by day – taking steps in

the right direction……

I had a huge zucchini & wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it – so I made three different dishes.

Zucchini chips, grilled zucchini & fake crab cakes.

I need more practice with the chips but the

others came out pretty good!

Weasel needed a manicure

Her nails grow long & hard – I leave it to

a pro to do the doggie mani/pedi

Chester didn’t have his rabies paperwork

so they insisted on muzzling him.

they felt bad for him so they took off the muzzle.

he was a little happier with out the muzzle.

8/26/12 National Dog Day, MAX, Kitchen Table with R & D

8/26/12

finally – the opportunity to do what I always want to do

but never get the chance – sit on the porch, have a

cup of coffee & read the paper!!!

It was the perfect weather.

Today was National Dog Day —

so I took the dogs for a walk to celebrate!

then I made us a tasty breakfast —

home fries, my first batch ever – came out really good.

Also scrambled eggs with chorizo. yum.

later in the morning nephew Bryan

came over to mow our lawn & weed whack

while sister Pat is on “vacation”.

He did a GREAT job, anyone need him?

this is MAX he is from Germany & is living here in

Doylestown to work on the presidential campaign.

Michael lent him his bike for the next couple months

while Max is here in the states.

Happy Biking MAX! & may the best man WIN!

neighbors Roman & Denise invited us to dinner

at the Kitchen Table. We’ve been there a couple times

& really like it. This is a signature dish –

fried green tomatoes.

Saturday 8/25/12 100 mile bike ride that was only 75 miles

Saturday 8/25/12

~ the ultimate plan was to ride our bikes 100 miles –

a “century”. Another bike club put together the ride

& Michael organized a group of us to do it.

We had 11 people in our group

the first flat tire of the ride — Mine!

1/2 mile into the ride…..

2nd flat tire — MINE —

1.5 miles into the ride.

Adam volunteered to help do it right this time

& then no more flat tires!

Our first break after 30 miles.

the potatoes were a big hit.

we ended the day with 75 miles

(we missed a turn)

We could have done another loop but we didn’t feel like it!

I know, lame excuse…… I felt really good after the ride

& could have done 25 more miles for a true century –

but I didn’t feel the need to.

I was quite happy with 75 miles.

We average 15 mph. It took us 5 hours.

after biking we went back to Adam’s house for

beer & BBQ

I tried to make us spiral cut hotdogs

8/24/12 Volleyball, dinner, getting ready for a big ride!

The weekend is here!!

Happy Days Ahead!

THESE were the culprits.

neighbor Tanya & I drank these last night –

(YES, all of them…..)

hence the slow start this a.m…….

This is what I needed today – a coffee transfusion!

Instead I had a BB & B sandwich* & I was off to play

some volleyball…..

WE are aspiring to do a 100 mile bike ride tomorrow

so we wanted to be sure to carbo load —

a bowl of pasta with shrimp, crab & mozzarella.

We drove sister Pat’s car since she has been on “vacation”

& will not be using it for a couple more months…..

I made some boiled potatoes for tomorrow’s

100 miler ride — we offer these to bikers who

ride in our Covered Bridge Ride —

thought I’d surprise the group with them.

I also made a secret special sauce to go with them.

up early to go for a run EXCEPT for WEASEL.

She decided to sleep in….

I got a picture of the Pig Biker – he’s the guy

went to free Yoga & afterwards I stopped at brother Raymond’s studio (it is near the yoga place)

8/22/12 job, Chester & Squirrel, Weasel, Jerky treats, Turtle

8/22/12

volleyball friend Kathy sent me this calendar today.

She used it at work & recently found out her

company is closing so she gave me the

calendar. Previously Kathy would send me the

pages of the calendar at month’s end which I would use

to decorate envelopes when sending snail mail

(as you might know!).

Kathy is an office manager & her degree is

in Accounting (from Drexel) so if anyone is

hiring let me know!!!!

Went well…… BUT who can work for free

for the first 6 months while establishing

a business?? All these places want you

to work on straight commission!!

I will be very grateful when I get a full time job.

She was injured & now lives at the Aquarium

for some reason my dad is OBSSESSED with

the Wig Shop…. we were thinking maybe he

was checking out the eye patch on the mannequin –

can you see it???

Laughter is an instant vacation!

“saint” Pat has been sending daily updates

about our dad. He’s doing fine especially

considering the treatments he’s been getting.

Now Pat on the other hand….could be better!

Our Dad is not the easiest person to

get along with. Pat’s updates are quite

comical & often make me LOL literally!!
