brother Larry did a great job – let me know
if YOU need something painted!

neighbor Kim sent me this photo to pass on to Michael.
The Techs are supposed to have cones behind
their truck as a safety precaution.
Of course they tell the Tech “Good Job” then they
are more inspired to keeping doing the right thing.

Send your photos to me if you see someone
doing a good job!

how to think & react…….

========================

Find the opportunity in every difficulty.

‘Optimist’ is a word which here refers to
a person who focuses on the positive.
For instance, if an optimist lost her left arm in a car accident,
she might say in a hopeful voice,
“I’m alive. I don’t have my left arm anymore,
but I do have my right one, and my life still to live.”

Optimism does not mean ignoring the problem entirely;
it means understanding that setbacks are inevitable,
often temporary, and that you have the skills and abilities
to combat the challenges you face.
What you are dealing with may be difficult,
but it is important to remain hopeful and positive
about a brighter future.

Thursday June 21st 2012 bluebird, train, wine, "bike & rrew"

Thursday June 21st 2012

Img_4286
trying to get the bluebirds to use their fancy feeder.
they were using it when it was out back but won’t
go in now that is closer to their home.
Can’t figure it out. Any ideas?

Img_4287
on my morning (5 mile!) run saw this train
going through Ivyland. I think it is the
first time I ever saw a train go through here.
Traffic was backed up!

Img_4288
brother Larry working on sister Pat’s bathroom.
Anyone have any small paint jobs they need done?
Img_4289
Remember: I’m here to answer any questions
you might have regarding wine, beer, spirits.
Use me!

Img_4290
got a new wine in – the sister wine to Pinot Project.
This one is called Chardonnay Conspiracy.
It’s pretty good, we all liked it.
Not too oaky, nicely balanced.
I think it costs $10 or $11.

Img_4293
some of you already know how HOT it’s been.
Today it was 102 in my car & went up to 104!
It was hard cooling off the car, thank God for A/C!
Img_4294
I was supposed to play volleyball here but unfortunately
(or maybe fortunately) our practice got cancelled
because one of the girls couldn’t make it.
It was too hot to play anyway!
Img_4301
I was able to participate in the BREW part of
Thursday night “Bike & Brew”…..
The “theme” was supposed to be CANS OF BEER
but then a few bottles happen to sneak in….
Img_4303
dog picture I thought was cool
Img_4306
why fit in…….
stand out instead

Wednesday 6/20/12 morning run, veterinarian, Lambertville with dogs

Wednesday 6/20/12

Img_4265
quiet morning on the Green.
Wanted to get out for an early run before the heat
came.  It’s going to be 100 today!
As you can see there is NO breeze –
look at the flag.
Img_4267
got some baby bluebirds on the way!
Img_4268
this is a fancy feeder for the bluebirds.
they were using it out back & since I moved it up front
it seems like they forgot how to get inside it.
Img_4271
made a green smoothie today with
spinach, bananas, strawberries, pineapple &
apple juice. It looks kind of gross but you have to
trust me — it tasted really good!

Img_4272
Chester & Weasel’s doctor office.
an old house, not a fancy building.
Img_4275
Chester & Weasel waiting for Dr Klingensmith.
Chester’s paw is looking good but he needs meds
for 6 more months. Weasel needs a dental cleaning
& she got supplements for her creakiness.

P1050057
after the vet we took a walk in Lambertville.
I don’t know what I was thinking, it was
REALLY HOT. We searched for shade.
Came across this bicycle sculpture.

I don’t even use COLGATE but this container
almost makes me want to start!!!

P1050064
We did play volleyball tonight even though it
was 100 degrees! it was HOT but we drank
a lot & stayed hydrated. Plus there was
a little breeze so that helped.
(see the flag?)

Img_4262a
on the way home I remembered this new

After volleyball Saturday, Biking Sunday

I feel like it’s a COSTCO garden!!!

P1050053
sister Pat made us tasty crab stuffed Portabella’s

P1050055
I whipped up a batch of spinach & beans with prosciutto.
That was REALLY good.

Monday 6/18/12 Chester wins!, beer, sangria, raccoon, QUILL the movie

Monday 6/18/12

Img_4255
I took Chester for a 5 mile run today; he was
“dog tired” & he laid on HIS bed. Problem was:
the CAT was already there & she had a
HISSY fit (literally) when he laid down.
But he did not budge & they laid there
together, happily (or not) ever after…..

Img_4261

friend Jim O.  HOPTIMUM is hard to get
& soon you will not be able to get
it at all.

Img_4262

I poured a little fizzy soda into it & made it
into a Sangria Slushie. mmmmmmm

QUILL. The Life of a Guide Dog.

I just saw this movie advertised & when
it is playing in mainstream theaters
I WILL be going to see it.
Who wants to come with me???

QUILL THE LIFE OF A GUIDE DOG :
Based on a true story, QUILL: THE LIFE OF A GUIDE DOG is the sweet tale of a yellow Labrador Retriever guide dog for the blind named Quill. We follow Quill from the litter to his selection as a guide dog shortly after his first birthday. After training at a school for guide dogs, Quill is paired with a blind man named Watanabe who at first is reluctant to rely on him. But Quill’s great patience, gentleness & skill eventually win him over and they become inseparable friends.
