I attended a Wine Class with friend Mary

at a local Winery tonight. We had one of

those 1/2 price coupons for the class.

Welcome to Boyd’s Cardinal Hollow Winery

this is Chris the owner of the Winery

For the presentation, we had cheese & crackers

and a glass of the Chambourcin – a red wine.

The presentation was pretty good & we

learned a lot. The wine wasn’t something we liked,

but apparently someone likes it because they

are selling it!

after the wine presentation we went to the

nearby Tex-Mex Connection.

running in the park early this a.m. –

Chester & I checked out Safety Town

It’s a little town of local stores with

all the local roads as well

(I should have gotten some road signs!)

Kids can ride their bikes & big wheels around town.

There aren’t many kids out driving at 6 a.m.

Chester liked the Donut Shop!

He looks like he works there!

speaking of donuts….

Dunkin Donuts is making Friday just a little sweeter.

This Friday, June 1, is National Donut Day,

which means a free donut with a beverage purchase

at your local Dunkin Donuts.

We came across this turtle – it was BIG!

He seemed lost so we took him over to the pond

& let him loose.

It was great watching them grow up!

I’m hoping for another batch of babies.

I finally got my Wine certificate –

Now it’s OFFICIAL! woo hoo!

I’m a real wine snob…..

Pass with DISTINCTION – that’s the important part.

You can’t get any higher than that!

Bear Topiary I pass every day on my way to work.

I just love this thing & of course want one.

I wonder where you get them & also

wonder what they cost?

Wednesday May 30th 2012 Deer in park, found phone, Volleyball

Saw this deer outside the park today.

He was roaming in a military housing

development that’s been closed for awhile.

This was his friend INSIDE the park.

The deer are pretty used to people

so they don’t even run when you get nearby.

FOUND! a pink telephone!

Our neighbors daughter lost her phone in

our house back in the winter –

I just found it in our swivel chairs.

for the record, Weasel helped find it.

I’ve perfected the recipe for smoked salmon

& capers Deviled Eggs. Come try one.

They are menu worthy when we open a

restaurant.

5/29/12 Weather! Birds, Memorial Day BBQ

5/29/12

We’ve been having SUPER hot weather recently (90’s).

Chester couldn’t finish our run this morning –

and we went out early (6:40 a.m.)

Chester is not the only expert dog toy killer

after the gym I stopped & got an armband for my iPhone.

I like having the phone with me when I run for a few reasons.

I’ve been using an app called Map My Run –

it tells you how far & how long your run was

AND maps your route.

Also — Chester is WAY to heavy to carry home –

so if he poops out I can call someone for Dog Rescue!

My Tree Swallows out back hatched yesterday

These Tree Swallow babies, out front, hatched today.

I have regular Bird Nursery going on at my house!

Baby bluebirds – not so little anymore.

They should “fly the coop” almost any day now.

Our house all decked with Flags out for the Holiday

We had our Memorial Day BBQ today, indoors.

Yesterday we let TED’s (Montana Grill) do the cooking…

After dinner I was able to relax a little & do a little reading

out on the porch. It was HOT but there was a breeze

so it was nice. How do you like the new Leopard cushions?

a storm was brewing so

we had to hurry up & walk the dogs

Memorial Day Weekend

we’re going on a bike ride!!

& Michael said: I think that’s Danny’s car, & it was.

So – we accidentally ran into danny diehl.

GREAT seeing you Dan.

We rode 37 miles today. It was challenging.

Mistakes Unhappy People Make

Sunday 5/27/12 FRED’s, birds, grilled caesar salad!

Sunday 5/27/12

Fred’s (private breakfast club) for Breakfast.

We were supposed to go biking but an early

morning heavy rain & additional thunderstorm threats

changed our plans…..

Fred’s was BUSY. Rule 17 was in effect.

Eat & Leave, no kibitzing…

since biking/running outside was nixed –

I spent some time reading….YAY!!!

this makes me very happy.

I took the dogs on a few short walks.

We checked on the bluebird babies –

they are getting BIG!!

Two weeks old.

for clarification purposes —

this is what an adult BLUEBIRD looks like.

They are cute & mild mannered.

They eat insects so if you see a bird

that is blue eating from your feeder –

it most likely is NOT a BLUEBIRD.

This is a BLUE JAY.

They are pretty big birds & kind of mean spirited.

They pick on little birds & can be aggressive –

they come from the crow family.

They like seeds & nuts so you might find these birds

eating from your bird feeders.

Michael spent most of the day playing in his pond.

He drained out all the water & captured a few hundred

fish to give to a co-worker. We should have maybe a

dozen fish in our pond & we still have a ton.

Do you need any??

Me & our turtle LEONARDO!

He hangs out on the bottom so we rarely see him.

I rescued him a couple months ago.

I found him hot & 1/2 dead on the road

& brought him home to new fish friends.

Pat & I went shopping for dinner supplies (& more).

We just visit the Buttercake – we don’t buy it

unless we are going to a party.

We don’t want that thing in our house –

it’s dangerous – tastes too good.

& Grilled Caesar Salad (my first time) ~

(yes, grilled!!!)

Everything was DELICIOUS –

even I liked it!

~definitely making this again!

there is a new law in Pennsylvania that

motorists must give cyclists 4 feet when passing.

There are too many cyclist deaths……

we need all the help we can get!

We rode 34 miles today and averaged over 15 mpg.
