We rode 27.5 miles today.

After biking I was suppose to sit down & READ.

But this Beer & Food Pairing was calling my name…..

The more beers I try the better I can serve my customers!

This event was being held at the Warrington Wegmans – it’s right near our house.

FINALLY — I was going to sit down & read —

what I aspired to do all day — then I remembered

I needed to do Picture of the Day from Friday …

& may as well do Saturday while I’m at it…..

Two hours later…I’m still at the computer & no reading

has been accomplished —

there’s always Sunday??

“No, I’m not,” he said, when asked if he was retiring.

“Why would I do that? This is what I do.

I don’t need the money, but I love the work.”

Andy Rooney passed away last night @ 92 😦

Friday 11-4-11 Black Lab Bistro, Modern Rock Ensemble

11-4-11

Tonight friends & I were headed to Phoenixville for

dinner & a show. Phoenixville is about an hour drive from Ivyland.

We ate at the Black Lab Bistro

which I was under-whelmed with..

I really wanted to like it but I should have listened to all

those YELP reviews. The company was great.

Food ok. Service poor.

fortunately I had some nice wines to pair with whatever i ordered

skinny rib eye steak cooked okay with a plain baked potato.

They did bring butter/sour cream but they didn’t offer it!

Service was pretty much lacking which is priority of

mine when I eat out.

11-3-11 Furniture finally, cooking

11-3-11

delivery guys bringing in the chair we ordered

back in August – who knew it took that long

for furniture delivery??

well, in all fairness, it was a special order

(of course!)

Chester & Weasel doing a final inspection on the couch.

It is a QUEEN sleeper – who will be the first to use it?

It is an unconventional style

– I will get pictures of how it works.

the chair is super comfy too

we still need accents for the room but it is

ready to accept guests!

this guy was totally perplexed at the supermarket.

i stepped up & helped him.

He needed “mustard advice”.

Of course my first question was:

“What will you be using it for?”

After we talked & discussed his needs we settled

on the Grey Poupon – in a jar.

I like helping people!

I was cooking up a storm today!

I was making all kinds of stuff….

sparkling pomegranate punch.

this concoction is for the non-alcoholic portion of

what to pair with the bird.

Look for an update which will include wine/beverages

to pair with dessert. Coming soon….

I made home-made ranch dressing.

Danny & I couldn’t figure out what was missing.

Does anyone have a GREAT ranch dressing recipe?

We thought maybe if it sat overnight it might

get better — you know how food does that….

Chester….forgot how to get back in

the house through the dog door.

I don’t know WHY this happens but occasionally

the dogs “forget” how to get in the house-

they always eventually remember…..

smooth sailing on my way to work.

Wish traffic was like this all the time –

but then what fun would that be?

what a wine shop looks like prior to opening

it takes a lot of manpower & teamwork

to get the store stocked & ready

my favoritist place in the world

well, it will be once it is fully stocked!

I read about a wine event the school is helping with at a nearby Nature Center.

They are hosting a special Thanksgiving-themed menu provided by Whole Foods of Jenkintown

paired with a wine-tasting led by sommeliers from the Wine School of Philadelphia.

I reached out to Keith hoping I can help with the wine portion of the pairing,

Maybe they could get me into the event if my angle doesn’t work??

Tonight was my Toastmaster (public speaking) meeting.

It is held at the Moose Lodge & apparently since it is

a private club….SMOKING IS ALLOWED!!

I found it odd to see that sign b/c most places you

go you see the NO SMOKING sign.

Tonight friend Joyce & I drove to New Hope, Pa to attend

Fred’s Breakfast Club annual S’mores party.
