Thursday 10-20-11

Img_2319
Today I took advantage of the
FREE YOGA class offered at
Solebury Club.

Each week it is a different instructor & different kind of yoga.
This weeks yoga was more relaxing & not the usual “looks easy”
but is really challenging kind of yoga I am used to.
Img_2320
the club is located near a farm –
the skies were magnificent today
Img_2324a
brother Raymond’s Studio is nearby so I stopped & visited.
He wasn’t in so I just snooped around!
Img_2324aa
this is where the magic happens……

Img_2327
friend SHANNON who lives in Arizona
sent me this cool collage of the dogs.
Of course I LOVE it!!
Thank you Shannon!!
Img_2328a
neighbor Kaylie also gave me a little surprise —
she made me a leopard duck tape bracelet!
Thank You Kaylie!

The Languedoc region in Southern France.
I don’t know much about French wines so the
class was really very educational & tasty.

Tuesday 10-18-11 Interview, sculpture by Raymond, Dave’s Appliance

Tuesday 10-18-11

Interview
waiting for an interview at a PA Liquor Store

– the interview went well but I don’t think the locations will work.
they hire you for an area not a specific store.
for now I’ll keep my job at the Wegmans store, which by the way,
offers GREAT PRICES!!!
P1010768
brother Raymond made this sculpture for me –
for the downstairs bathroom –
do you know what it is??
P1010769
how clever!!  a TP holder!!!!

Thank you Raymond!!!

anyone want to order one?? of course each one would be unique!
P1010771
i don’t think I ever showed you the Star Hook
to hold a towel or whatnot.
The walls ARE blue – not sure why they look green?
P1010772
towel holder next to sink.
i like the star shapes!

We are STILL waiting for the furniture to arrive —
any day now & they basement will almost be finished!
We weren’t too speedy getting it done…..
Q
DAVE himself came to fix our washing machine.
We pretty much need a new washer – it doesn’t make
sense to fix the one we have. Michael likes doing
laundry EVERY DAY — I think he is going through
laundry withdrawal!!
Redfox91
my friend Howard Eskin captured this
photo of a fox at a nearby park.
pretty cool isn’t it??

G
H
the Lobby was quite busy
I
no cameras allowed so i had to be stealth.
We had good seats!
Img_2302
during intermission I wandered out to the lobby
& “gift shop” area – I found it funny they would
sell EAR PLUGS at a concert hall!

———————————————————————————————-
P1010760
Stopped to see brother Raymond on our way home
from the concert. This the ART BARN as I call it.
Ray’s wife Rosemary has a graphic design studio

10-15-11 AFTER the ride — the FUN continues. Weyerbacher & Porter’s

10-15-11

You know I can’t just do ONE thing….
so after biking we were off to another adventure…..
Thanks to Jim & his sleuthness perusing the internet on his
smart phone we headed to EASTON, PA
(this was on our way home).
I will say – i think he SHOULD get more than 1 1/2 “bonus points”
that Michael awarded him since he had help from google –
but WHO DOESN’T????

P1010719
first stop was over to the Pennsylvania Visitor Center –
it is a super nice state of the art facility AND they have
the bonus of clean “real” bathrooms! yay!
P1010721
photo opportunity for HELEN —
I enlisted a strangers help to take this picture!
P1010722a
WE have arrived!!
Weyerbacher Brewing Company

P1010724
Weyerbacher is a small craft brewery.
They will be celebrating the 16th year of production this year!
P1010725
Busy tasting room
P1010727
our guy pouring us a flight of beer tastings
P1010728
6 on tap for us to try, plus a few bottles

P1010729
Jim & Me!

our favorite is the Double Simcoe IPA
P1010735
their bottling station
P1010738
Greek beer talk — keeping tabs on their vats
& what’s brewing for how long
P1010739
it was a FUN diversion —
earning Jim ONE bonus point
P1010740
Now it was time to EAT!
P1010741
Jim found this place on google —
it said they had a good beer selection
& good food (which they DID)
P1010743
The Odd Oddsen
– Oven roasted turkey, provolone cheese, Russian dressing
with coleslaw on ciabatta bread

Porter’s was REALLY GOOD — I’m looking forward to visiting again!

Saturday10-15-11 Black Bear Century Ride

Saturday 10-15-11

Today a few of us headed up to the
to participate in the Black Bear Century Bicycle Ride.

Img_2295
We got an early start & were treated to this
gorgeous sunrise. Of course the picture cannot
do it justice!
P1010684
Stunning views from at our arrival.
I like how you can still see the moon.
I wasn’t sure you would be able to see it –
but I can — can you??
P1010690
The Black Bear Century riders!!
Michael W., Jim, Judith, Me & Michael up front.

Judith & Michael were doing the 70 mile ride.
We just did the 41 mile ride which somehow
ended up being only 38 miles – which was plenty for me!
P1010694
loved the old dog helping with registration
P1010695
crossing from PA into NJ
P1010696
the Swan house!
P1010699
view from the bridge
P1010700
we met a VIZSLA during our travels — Yoshi!
Of course we HAD to stop & talk “dog”
P1010701
do i need words here?
P1010704
YAY – a rest stop 25 miles into the breathtaking
& challenging ride!
P1010707
first Jim had to change his tire.
He didn’t need to use my bike butler.
he changed his own tire in a flash!
P1010711
of course SAG VAN pulls up as we are finished changing tire
P1010712
at the rest stop….. not sure we needed
underwater search & recovery……
P1010713
not a busy rest stop like last weeks Covered Bridge Ride.
Last week our club had 2400 riders —
this ride only allows 500 max.
P1010715
Jim fueling up…..
P1010717
somehow I broke the cleat on my bike shoe.
(see how it is angled??)
I had to take my foot out of the shoe & wrestle the
shoe itself out of the pedal bc I couldn’t unclick it manually.
I’m just glad this happened at the END of the ride!
Otherwise it could have been trouble!
