Today I ventured out to Malvern, PA to help a couple friends with a project.

It is called In My Body – which is about:

“Uncovering the truths about how we really feel about our bodies.”

the grounds for an Outdoor Sculpture Garden.

Where the Action Happens —

they videotaped me in the Artists Residence –

which I forgot to get a picture of —

an excuse to go back out & visit!!

Lis & Melissa – the brains behind the production.

Basically – they videotaped me answering these two questions/statements:

1.) What is the most profound thing (good or bad)

that anyone has said to you about your body?

And why is it so profound?

It was really painless & it felt great to help with their project.

You can videotape yourself & send it in.

I was high maintenance & asked them to video ME.

Plus I wanted to see them!!!

9.26.11 Monday the interview, apples, MAD, business cards, Pour House

9.26.11 Monday

Today was my in-person interview at Wegmans.

They did offer me the position – of course!?!

The Wegmans Liquor store is in Cherry Hill, NJ. (25 miles each way).

I take the Betsy Ross Bridge from PA to NJ

but on my way home I take the

Tacony Palmyra bridge from NJ to PA —

because the toll is only $2.00

(toll is only one direction – Betsy Ross is $5)

after the interview, cousin Rose Mary met me (she lives nearby).

We spent time talking to AUDMID she was making a

tasty Brussel sprout dish — really!

She told us how she LOVED working at Wegmans &

hoped she could welcome me to the family!

freshly picked apples from the Orchard!

Neighbor Tanya & daughter Lily brought me some

apples they just picked. They are DELICIOUS!

We had a lot to talk about – with the job offer on the table.

Michael wanted to go here because he likes the beer selection,

the food & the service.

9/25/11 Taormina’s with DAD & family

This was my dad’s last day here before heading back home to South Carolina.

We all got together & had an early lunch at our favorite restaurant Taormina’s

which is right across from our house. Yes, you can WALK there!

25 September 2011 Sunday biking, house of coffee, just food

We tempted fate & rode our bikes today despite the threat of rain.

The weekend forecast was rain & more rain & flooding.

NONE of that happened!! I can’t believe the forecast was wrong!

ME & Michael

We stumbled upon a couple out for a walk on a closed road.

We don’t often have the chance to have our

picture taken together so I asked the guy to be our

photographer. We rode 27 miles today.

We never tire of the beautiful scenic Bucks County.

I’m convinced everyone who reads Picture of the Day

wants to move here!!! (don’t they??)

House of Coffee is a nice place to take a break.

It is located in the Peddler Village shopping center

in Lahaska, PA.

It’s a pleasant atmosphere – they have tasty snacks,

good coffee & good ice tea which Michael drinks.

THIS is especially a bonus for bikers .

You can fill up your water bottle with Ice & Water.

I pretty much drink one bottle every 10 miles

so I will need two more. Michael always carries

extra for me as well. Lucky ME!

NOW is the Scarecrow festival at Peddler’s Village–

it’s always fun to walk around & see the different creations.

OF COURSE I love the monkey one!!!

The scarecrows are on display until OCTOBER 30th

– make sure you go see them. They’re FUN!!!!

He probably doesn’t want me telling you but I did!!

He thinks they are the BEST potato chips in the

ENTIRE WORLD!!! He feels very strongly about them….

It’s a cute little shop with everything you didn’t know you needed!

EVERYTHING looked yummy. I wish we needed something –

other than potato chips!!! Next time we’ll try one of their

delicious looking dishes.

They had a whole case of desserts too.

I did get a mini-carrot cake for dessert tonight.

I WON this Phillies Basket — my friend attended a charity event

& I told her I’d buy tikcets for the baskets only if she

promised to CRINKLE the tickets for me –

because THAT is HOW you WIN!!

lots of fun stuff – I gave it to my brother Larry bc he

is a HUGE PHILLIES fan. He did let me keep the

Phanatic Pillow Pet – I wanted if for the dogs.

They don’t have enough toys!

Saturday 9/24/11 Sweet Lucy’s with Dad

Since my dad only puts in an appearance every few years we gathered

the family and had lunch together at SWEET LUCY’S BBQ —

it was kind of middle ground for us. Also my dad likes these kind of

places beings he is from SC so we thought we’d make him feel at home.

Saturday 9/24/11 Dog School, 263 Marketplace with DAD

Chester hasn’t been to dog school since before our Maine vacation.

I was planning on RAIN today & not biking so I thought I’d take him to class.

One can never have too much education, can they??

My father was in Pennsylvania for an Army reunion.

He stopped by to visit us afterwards.

This is the first I’ve seen my dad in 4 years.

He pretty much looks the same – maybe looks a little older

& chunkier — but then again — don’t we all???

Friday 9/23/11 Capital Wine tasting @ Bluebell Country Club & Broad Ave Tavern

Friends Mary & Chris live at the Bluebell Country Club & invited us to

tonight’s Wine Tasting being held there. Twist my arm…..

It was sponsored by Capital wine & Spirits the same company who

hosted Monday’s Portfolio tasting in Center City Philadelphia.

CHEESE STEAK SPRING ROLLS
~South Philly meets Hong Kong, Long peppers and spicy ketchup

~ these were “ok”

JALAPEÑO CALAMARI
~ Crisp, golden calamari rings and jalapeño peppers with marinara

~ a little disappointing — i think we found 2 jalapeño peppers!!

BACON BLUE CHEESE & CARAMELIZED ONIONS
~ Tomato sauce, sautéed onions, blue cheese and crispy
apple-wood smoked bacon with balsamic reduction.

~ it sounded better than it was……

We asked one of the servers to show us where the ghost lives.

There is a story about a ghost named Rachel that

lives in restroom in the original upstairs part of the restaurant.

The Broad Axe Tavern/Inn/Hotel dates back to 1681 and is the 2nd oldest tavern in the United States. According to local legend a ghost named Rachel haunts the Broad Axe Tavern. The story goes that Rachel was the daughter of one of the owners. She and her family lived on a farm behind the Broad Axe Tavern. A group of men left the Broad Axe one night after one too many drinks and were taunting her. Fleeing from the inebriated men, she ran into the bathroom of the tavern and she was never seen again. She is said to be most active when there is any sort of construction going on at the Tavern. There are stories of people being pushed down flights of stairs, being knocked over with a tray full of food when nothing was around them.
