After volleyball we loaded up the dogs & headed to New Hope.

There was a dog festival going on & we thought we’d check it out.

in New Hope.

10/1/11 Volleyball indoors!

I was invited to play volleyball indoors today.

The forecast wasn’t great for biking so I accepted the invitation.

My friend Kathy organizes it & we play triples at the

Plymouth Meeting Community Center – maybe 30 minutes from Ivyland.

9/30/11 Painting the Roads & Galasso’s

We are now off to ROAD PAINTING —

we mark the roads with arrows using different colors to

signify the different routes you could be riding.

There are RIDES for all levels of riders.

Let me know if you are interested!!!

It is not too late to register for the ride –

Friday 9/30/11 Fred’s & Tinicum Park

Today friend Joyce, Michael & I were helping our bike club

PAINT THE ROADS

for the upcoming Covered Bridge Ride.

We went to FRED’s for breakfast before working hard!

when we went to Fred’s

I’ll RUN…..not WALK to Fred’s for Breakfast.

There are applications hanging ALL over the walls

of Fred’s — that’s how you apply to become a member!

upon the advice of my breakfast advisor i tried their

corned beef hash with a poached egg & multi-grain toast.

I thought it was good but more potatoey than corned beefy.

We were meeting all the ROAD PAINTERS here

at Tinicum Park. It is far-ish from Ivyland.

About 45 minutes.

Michael made a fancy box for our pending

every year Michael makes a better box to help us

paint the roads.

Thursday 9/29/11 DMV, yoga, chester, drug test, covered bridge ride!

time to get a new picture on my drivers license

It wasn’t very busy & they were QUICK.

I was in & out in MINUTES!!

Roy told me about the FREE yoga classes

at the Solebury Club. It’s all good!

who I met while on vacation in Maine.

Nikki was my massage therapist while we were in Bar Harbor, Maine

& we’ve been in touch ever since!! YAY for new friends!

Wanted to tell you about our new Window Treatment.

It’s the kind of shade that goes down from the top.

We have it in our powder room — it was always

so dark & I thought we needed some light.

I highly recommend them!

I went over to NJ to finalize paperwork for the new job.

I had to authorize a background check then go to a

lab & donate hair for a drug test. 100 strands!!!

friend Joyce came over to work with Michael on MAPS for the upcoming

COVERED BRIDGE RIDE.

This is the 31st Annual ride our Club has sponsored.

9/28/11 Reading Terminal, Center City Philadelphia

After taking the test I was HUNGRY.

I was near READING TERMINAL so I strolled over there.

Reading Terminal is a unique place that has a little bit

of everything. It is popular with tourists & locals as well.

It is “a unique and extraordinary historic farmers market

in Center City Philadelphia.”

It is a HUGE market with a plethora of vendors

Produce fresh from the field.

Fresh assortment of cheeses

Seafood. or in this case SEE FOOD??

or maybe FOOD SEE b/c that crab is looking RIGHT AT US!

After lunch I decided to walk down to 30th street train station to catch the train.

It was only about 15 blocks or so. On my way I took a few photos.

At the Municipal Services Building,

visitors can find many larger than life

game pieces from popular board games

as well as a statue of former mayor Frank Rizzo.

9/28/11 taking the train – the commute I miss! job update!!!!!

9/28/11

Today I had the FORTUNE of taking the train into the city.

It was quite nice & a commute I surely miss.

I was going into town to take a Civil Service test to be a state employee

at a Wine & Spirits store. Liquor stores are STATE owned in PA.

Yes, quite archaic & there have been recent movements to

change those laws but for now they are intact.

The testing center is in China Town.

the only thing better would have been to get the pictures of

someone knitted a sweater for a bike stand

where you lock up your bikes …. only in China Town!

The line for the Civil service test was LONG.

I am not scheduled to take the exam until 11/18

but one can go on a standby basis which is what I did.

They will MAIL my results which seems so archaic considering you take

the test on a computer & they COULD give you instant results.

The test was fairly easy if one is good in Math.

WEGMANS JOB update…..

I was able to accept the job offer with Wegmans which I am SUPER EXCITED about.

They offer mega training & there is ALWAYS so much to LEARN in the wine industry.

I go tomorrow to finalize everything. This is an exciting opportunity for me.

I hope everyone is as excited as I am !!!!
