Monday 9-12-11 dogs, Birthday Girl! Total Wines

Monday 9-12-11

Dogs waiting for their morning walk.

Since I am not going to the gym I’ve committed

to taking Weasel & Chester out every day

for a 2 or 3 mile walk/run.

my friend RICH sent me this little boxed game –

to have a Dinner Party celebrating my new beginning!

It was (former) neighbor Ava’s birthday & she wanted to

go to Taormina’s — of course we had to go!

Ava & Christian – the owner’s son.

Both celebrating their birthday’s at Taormina’s.

They were born same day same hospital hours apart!

Ava doesn’t usually get dessert —

but this was a special occasion!!

Sunday 9/11/11 Roy’s last ride, surf & turf

Sunday 9/11/11

We like to go on rides that our friend Roy leads – he always does a great job.

He is moving to Washington State next month & sadly this was his last club ride.

Wish I got the memo to wear the Club Bike Jersey!

Roy’s last ride! We ended up with 24 miles.

Sort of an overcast day. I guess appropriate for 9/11?

Ervin at Wegman’s — the next place I need to

look for a job. They are opening a WINE STORE

over in Jersey – I’d be perfect!!

Ervin was giving out samples of roasted

cauliflower — my recipe is WAY Better!!!!

Surf & Turf dinner tonight.

The rotary sold leftover lobsters & steaks

from last night’s Lobster Pot so

we got a few for dinner tonight.

I made REALLY TASTY Clams casino too —

they would have been better had I not burned them!

I thought I turned off the oven…..but didn’t…..

I created a GREAT recipe which I will explain

step by step next time for those interested.

Saturday September 10th, 2011 Biking & Lobster Pot

We’ve had a bit of rain since returning from Maine.

We were all going through bike riding withdrawal after riding

all those miles everyday…. today we ventured out on a club ride.

part way through the ride we came across a small obstacle…

My bike had to go to the hospital —

the cable that controls the back cassette with all the

gears came loose & I only had 3 gears (vs 30).

I need all the help I can get.

We ended up only riding 15 miles instead of

the scheduled 40. It was a little rainy anyway.

Each year the Hatboro Rotary puts on a Lobster Pot fund raiser.

A few were asking WHAT DOES the ROTARY DO??

here is a synopsis:

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today’s most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Our neighbor Brett is a rotary member –

Our group had two big tables.

I got 10 people to come out & play.

Plus we had other neighbors come out too.

he inspired me to organize 10 of my friends

to come out and support the rotary event.

I wish I had committed sooner bc I know

I could have gotten more people……

Friday 9/9/11 breakfast @ Catherine’s, floods in New Hope

Friday 9/9/11

On Friday’s friend JOYCE usually goes to her breakfast club FRED’s

in New Hope, Pa but as you may have heard we’ve had quite a

bit of flooding & it wasn’t open. I suggested we try Catherine’s then

go take a look at New Hope after breakfast.

Catherine’s in Buckingham, PA – 20 minutes or so from us.

Thursday 9/8/11 FLOODS!! still unemployed, new car!

Thursday 9/8/11

We woke up to FLOODS in our area.

It was pretty bad. MY friend texted me at 6 a.m. to let

me know all the trains were shut down.

She didn’t get the memo I was out of work!!!

she now knows & is helping me look for

bosses to interview.

Has anyone had luck in that department yet?

My car was getting fixed while we were on vacation.

The guy who fixed it did a great job.

I new a girl who used him for her cars & she’s quite demanding

to put it politely…….
