8-16-11 volleyball at Comcast

8-16-11

Michael has been organizing Tuesday night volleyball for his guys at Comcast.

It’s always FUN to hang out with your co-workers.

It builds team spirit & inspires camaraderie.

One of the guys came & played even though he was on vacation!

Just so you know – they REALLY do use the cones!

I commented to Michael that COMCAST might want

to trim the tree so customers can read the sign.

8-15-11 fiesta leftovers, alex,

this is usually what our kitchen looks like after a

Friday or Saturday night party —

not a Sunday night dinner…..

our co-worker brought his son in today –

we put him right to work!!!

Here’s to the crazy ones……

Sunday 8-14-11 Silk City Diner, Furniture shopping, fiesta!

Sunday 8-14-11

We headed in to the city to do Final Furniture shopping for the basement.

I said to Michael if we didn’t find something today we would go to IKEA

& settle for what we found there – which I did NOT want to do.

Since we were going into town – Michael wanted to try this place he saw

on the TV show Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives: Silk City Diner.

Inside was pretty much a regular diner

We tried their famous hot wings & they were pretty tasty

I had a breakfast burrito (for breakfast Sunday & Monday).

It was ok.

Guy Fieri is the host of Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives

so it was only appropriate he paid for our meal

We were ready to go furniture shopping —

our first stop was Grossman’s Furniture.

& paying twice what I wanted to spend.

It’s totally cool – it has no mattress.

Who wants to be our first guests??

The bathroom pretty much rocks too!

We got this chair too – it was totally comfy

here is the fabric.

The couch will be solid with pattern pillows.

The chair will be the pattern with solid pillow.

AJ helped us furnish our house when we moved in 8 yrs ago.

He is SO VERY HELPFUL. Do you need furniture?

Go to AJ – he can help!!!

We tried this couch at another store –

wasn’t a fan!

Michael beer shopping for dinner guests coming later –

he said they don’t drink the same kind of beer he drinks.

I wanted to buy these beers just because of the names!!

but didn’t b/c they were $10 each!!

I found a stray 4-pack of West Coast Green Flash IPA.

This was after the guy at the beer store gave us a

10 minute dissertation on how they haven’t had any

in MONTHS & it would be MONTHS before they got more.

If you discover this beer in our vicinity we need an

ALERT ASAP. Michael Loves it & he cannot find it!!!

We had a Mexican feast at our house Sunday night —

what was I thinking? (it included margaritas)

neighbor Roman came over to trouble shoot our computer.

let’s hope it is fixed – we wouldn’t want to jeopardize

Helen’s NO COOK PASTA sauce

Helen’s NO COOK PASTA sauce

4 cups chopped tomatoes

1 Tbsp olive oil

1 Tbsp red wine vinegar

3 Tbs fresh Basil

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

6 garlic cloves, finely minced

1 cup feta cheese

pasta – whatever shape you like!

Combine first 7 ingredients in a bowl & stir well.

Let stand at least 10 minutes.

Boil the pasta. Ladle the room temperature sauce onto

the HOT PASTA. Sprinkle generously with feta cheese.

Mangia!!! Mangia!!!

Margarita Recipe

Margaritas

“Frozen margaritas made with limeade concentrate, tequila, triple sec and ice.”

Ingredients:


1 (6 ounce) can frozen limeade concentrate 6 fluid ounces tequila 2 fluid ounces triple sec

Directions:

1.	Fill blender with crushed ice. Pour in limeade concentrate, tequila and triple sec. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

2. DRINK UP!!!!

Saturday 8-13-11 Volleyball in Point Pleasant

Saturday 8-13-11

Today I played volleyball with Suzy.

Neither of us have played much this year so we were pretty rusty.

We needed to win another game to make playoffs.

It was still a fun day even though we didn’t win.

It was a GREAT beach day.

Personal brander Lida Citroen – teaching her last lesson

found a FUN note on my car at the train.

Our friend Big Vic is up from Florida & she

left me a note when her mom picker up

at the train.

I made a delicious no-cook tomato sauce for dinner –

the recipe is simple

you put the sauce on hot pasta & top with FETA cheese.

soooo good!

made my famous Caesar salad

made some pesto too – it was very tasty!

The furniture guy came to take away our couch

for reupholstering. I don’t know what Weasel is going

to do for 2 weeks!

we have a few lavender plants that are NOT looking good.

I hope the landscaper replaces them!

these, however, are looking quite well!
