July 1st 2011 out to dinner!

July 1st 2011
It was QUITE a challenging day at work & I really wanted to come home & just relax.
We were super busy at work & I was there late while everyone else left early to get
their holiday weekend started…..
Plus my boss decided to put a damper on the day & that really did not help.
Doesn’t someone know of  a job where I can go & be appreciated?????
Either THAT or the winning numbers for the lottery would be very much appreciated.

Cimg3005
We walked over to Taormina’s for dinner.
Checked out our neighbors FARM.
Quite impressive…..
Cimg3007
Michael showed me this tree that had a box
hanging from it that keeps the bugs away.
Does anyone know anything about these boxes?
& how they work? or IF they work?
Cimg3008
crabmeat & shrimp arriabiatta over angel hair pasta.
WAS delicious!!!!!

Monday 6/27/11 Re-upholstery , birds, new landscaping

Monday 6/27/11

Cimg2989
Today Mike Ciarlante came over to help me select fabric.
He is going to reupholster one of our couches.
He was a big help in deciding what to get.
Need more info? Here is his website:
Cimg2990
We are doing the couch in a pattern
& the cushions will be solid
Htcywovmatche_flt
this is called Material Dog
& the solid color is appropriately called Cognac

If you’re having a difficult day,
is it the day itself that’s difficult?
No, it is the way you perceive and interpret the
events of the day that make it feel so difficult.

Remember that you can always change your perception.

You can always choose the way you interpret and respond
to whatever happens in your world.

Look at life with a positive, purposeful perspective.

And make reality work for you.

Sunday 6/26/11 birds, biking, breakfast, fish ponds

Sunday 6/26/11

Abluebird
Mother Bluebird popping her head out of the nest box
Blue20babies
we have BABIES!!!!!! (bluebirds)
C
When I opened the Tree Swallow box two of the babies
flew away — i got a quick picture of these before
they flew away too
Cc
I’ve been a good plant mom & have been watering religiously!
Cimg2045
We biked to the Little Corner Kitchen for breakfast  –
about 3 miles from our house.

Cimg2046
there’s our bikes! & 1/2 of Michael.

We only wanted to do a short ride today.
We had lots of stuff to do & not enough time
to do it all!
Cimg2047
every time i drive past this dog i think to  myself
“I want to get a picture” so today was my
opportunity.  It is located outside an
office next to the restaurant.
Cimg2048
We stopped by our friend Michael’s house because he told
me he got his pond up & running & needed fish.
He wasn’t home so we did our own exploring.
Cimg2049
I like how the tree grew into the fence
in Michael’s back yard
Cimg2053
We rode into the park & had a slight delay……
Cimg2055

THE MERCURY 7 GONDOLA IS HOME!!

The Gondola is on display at the park behind our house where we bike.

We live in a pretty cool area where the Johnsville Naval base used to be.
All of America’s pioneering astronauts,
including Alan Shepard, John Glenn and Neil Armstrong
trained at the Johnsville Centrifuge prior to their historic space missions.

Cimg2057
Sunday 6/26/11

Just back from biking – nothing exciting –

just got out & stretched the legs after volleyball
yesterday & Michael riding 101 miles to the
beach to see us WIN our last game 🙂
Today we biked 11 miles (ytd 196 miles).
Cimg2059
Had a little “incident” but at least followed
Dr’s orders – he said not to fall —
but since I DID Fall — i fell on the side
without broken ribs!
Maybe that’s why you have 2 sets?
Cimg2061
Pat & I went to Wegman’s to get dinner ingredients.
I wanted Oysters but don’t know how to shuck them.
Jonathan from the seafood department gave me
an oyster shucking lesson!
Cimg2063
VIRTU is an awesome white wine blend – it’s been on
sale at the liquor store for only $15 so I picked up a few
bottles.  IT is GOOD – if you get a chance BUY SOME!

“55% Sauvignon Blanc; 45% Semillon.
This is a unique bottle of wine to be enjoyed now for its freshness
and in the future as it develops in the bottle.
Cimg2064
our friend STU was telling us about his rubs so i thought
I’d try it & compare it to my usual “secret marinade”.
The secret marinade won the taste test.
I would use the rub in the marinade next time.
Cimg2983
Michael went fishing & successfully caught some fish-
so we went over to our friends & made a deposit
in his pond. I don’t think he named them yet.

Saturday June 25th 2011 Beach Volleyball

Saturday June 25th 2011

Cimg2975
Today’s tournament was being held
in Seaside Heights – it’s about 1.5 hrs
from Ivyland
Cimg2976
It was a HUGE tournament – there were pro players there.
People flew in from California & Florida just to play.
Cimg2977
Lots of players & lots of nets.
What we didn’t know was that with the pro players
competing everyone dropped down a level that
they usually play. SO, essentially we were
playing UP a level higher than usual.
It was a challenging day.
Cimg2979
end of day – not quite ready for the photo…….
Cimg2980
Me & partner Diana.
We were 3 & 3 for the day
(3 wins/3 losses) – not enough to make playoffs.
It was actually kind of nice to leave the beach at 4 pm
instead of the usual 8pm!!
Cimg3969
got a letter from my pen pal Stefanie in Minnesota.
love the “dessert mail”.
Do YOU have a pen pal??
If not, you are truly missing out!!!
