Friday 6/24/11 Physical Therapist & The Dump

Friday 6/24/11

I got the green light to play volleyball this weekend but the
Physical Therapist wanted to tape up my ribs for support.

He uses this really cool tape called KINESIO TAPE.
Kinesio Taping gives support and stability to your joints and muscles
 without affecting circulation and range of motion.

I like the blue tape better – it’s prettier –
and does the same thing!

We finally got the glass installed in the basement shower.
It looks nice. Now we need a couch and a couple
chairs…..we are almost finished the basement

We went to the DUMP to check out their chairs & couches.
My friend Shannon (from Arizona) reminded me about this place.
She recently went to a DUMP where she lives &
featured it on her “Day in the Life” blog/journal

The place is HUGE & has good prices. It has low overhead,
no fancy showroom & only opens Fri, Sat & Sun

OF COURSE I loved this leopard chair & footstool
but Michael wasn’t really thrilled with it.

I had NO IDEA I had to actually WATER the new plants –
doesn’t Mother Nature take care of that stuff??
The landscaper told me today I have to water my
plants EVERY DAY for 2 weeks? Then every other day
for the next 3 weeks. Not sure what happens after that.

Does anyone know –  What time of day is the BEST TIME to water the plants???

Wednesday 6/22/11 Dinner at Lynnne & Stu’s house Wine too

We were invited over to our friends Lynne & Stu’s house for dinner.
Lynne & I went to High School (& college) together — we’ve known each
other for awhile….. (37 years!!!!!!)

I needed wine to pair with beef loin & crabcakes.
Champagne to celebrate.
White wine blend for apps / crabcakes.
Amarone & Red blend (chocloate block) paired with the BEEF LOIN.
The David Fulton Petite Sirah was a gift from our friend
Stephanie – winemaker at David Fulton.
Just buy the wine NOW – it was PHENOMENAL —-

6/21/11 New Landscaping, upholstery, magazine!

6/21/11

Our friend Joyce inspired me to get some landscaping done.
She gave me the name of CHARLIE who does
design for Sabia Landscaping. They came out today
& transformed our front & side lanscaping, along with
fixing up all our slate hardscaping.

Michael’s Rock Garden —
it’s really to stop the dog’s (Weasel)
from “going” there…..
We have the landscaper coming tomorrow
& he will be putting in sod next to the
rock garden.

Michael got this “thing” in a goodie bad from a
golf outing he played in today. (yes, golf outing!)
We weren’t sure what it was at first –
then EUREKA — i realized it was a MUDDLER!
Which is perfect for making Strawberry Caipirinhas!

Sunday June 19th 2011 Biking on Father’s Day

Yesterday was my “easy bike ride” just getting back in the saddle.
Today I took a longer & more challenging ride with the bike club.
Our friend Roy was leading & we ALWAYS love his rides!

that was dedicated to Roy’s wife who died a few years ago.
They met at the school years ago & were married soon after that!

Michael likes lasagna so that is what I made for him for Father’s Day.
This was the “easy one” with ground beef, sauce from a jar & Monterrey jack cheese!

6/18/11 yoga, biking & visiting the new house

I got the green light to slowly start exercising.
The physical therapist wanted me to start stretching
too – so what’s better than YOGA for that?

on Sunday.
Thought this jersey was good to wear as
a cyclist was recently killed by a motorist.
(there is a $25,000 reward ot find the killer
