4/22/11 Good Friday – Fred’s, shopping: furniture, wine, clothes, Union Jack’s

Today I had breakfast at FRED’s in New Hope, Pa

(about 20ish minutes + from Ivyland).

It is a private breakfast club & FUN to eat there.

friend Joyce (middle) is a member of the breakfast club.

She invited me & ED (from bike club) and his wife Linda

i was advised in advance what to order –

so i didn’t need to look at the menu.

Blueberry pancakes with a side of pork roll, well done.

it was “.94-.96” – good suggestion.

we were furniture shopping for the basement

i was liking this chair

CHOCH from Central Liquors (in Flemington, NJ) helped

me select some fine wines for my wine cellar.

while driving home…..

we saw this on a Creek road where we often bike –

EEDED a few tops as the ones I have now

are years old since i rarely shop –

TJ MAX is close to our house so I went there.

the HYDRO BONE intrigues me….

I like the part where it says

I was not aware that was an issue?

i spent $150 – got 6 tops & 1 dress.

4/20/11 meeting & Moving the office

had a huge meeting with my boss about

not being compensated fairly.

Unfortunately, we resolved NOTHING.

and the men prevail.

our office is moving from the 14th floor

to the 7th floor – same building.

They started taking apart our trading desk.

moving is fun…..??!!!

4/19/11 Demolition, dinner & WINE

the demolition near Temple University continues

& WOW they are making progress!

had a red wing black bird at my feeder today –

along with finches, cardinals, doves…..

a regular backyard bird haven…..

whipped up a quick dinner tonight —

steak, corn, mushrooms,

bread with roasted pepper Bruschetta.

it was all yummy

made some artichokes too –

when was the last time you had one??

have you ever had one???

wine x 5 bottles…..

found out this wine is a “Chairman’s Special”

just $14.99 — that’s a bargain (1/2 price)

I might go back & buy more – it can

be cellared for a couple years.

Same building today – they are making progress!

I wonder why they didn’t implode it??

actually RELAXED after work today –

sat down & read for a little bit.

We usually go to dog school but

played hookey today…..

poured a little wine to help relax —

it is a white wine blend

my friend Lynne in Disney today–

she used our “Disney Guide” — DISNEY DOT —

4/16/11 Birding…., Memorial Service ,Roma’s, Danny

Every Saturday my goal is to sleep “late”

(well, later than my 5 a.m. weekday get up time).

All I want to do is make a cup of coffee,

read the paper in the “reading room”

& watch the birds in our

“Backyard Bird Haven”.

Today I had about a 1/2 of coffee & birds 🙂

before getting on with my day.

Calvary Church in Philadelphia.

I was here to attend a memorial service for

my friend Denise’s dad who died back in October.

Not your “typical church” ….

Denise gave a great talk.

to paraphrase part of what she said:

On a tombstone is the date you were born

& the date you died. In between is a dash.

That DASH is your life….

What will that that DASH say

about your life??

The whole event/memorial service was really NICE –

which seems like an odd way to describe a

memorial service……but the way I felt when leaving….

ran an errand with sister Pat to ROMA’s –

an Italian Specialty store in Trevose, PA –

about 15 ish minutes from Ivyland

I was SO LOVING this store – they had so many

cool Italian specialties.

I’m looking forward to going back!
