11/23/10 Doctor & drugs, "the vault"

11/23/10

Cimg2033
went to a NEW DOCTOR today –

he is literally

across the street from where we live.

(you can WALK to his office)

Maybe next time I can get a picture of HIM

& not just his sign?

btw – for those who live nearby –

I liked this doctor A LOT and even after one

visit WOULD RECOMMEND HIM.

Cimg2039
Here are my miracle DRUGS to cure me!!!
I feel WAY better than yesterday.
Cimg3181
When I went out today I saw ALL THESE SHOVELS….(5)
and another couple not in the picture.
I guess Michael is getting ready for the Winter?
Does he know something we don’t know?
Cimg3180
Michael’s garage”vault” —
wasn’t sure if the shovels were NEW or if he got them
from this secret attic he created in the garage.
I don’t even know what’s up there…….

11/22/10 Seven hours of TV

11/22/10

Cimg3186
This is how I spent my last 7 hours –
laying on the couch watching TV with Weasel.
Sick 😦

Of course I had to get out a Picture of the Day – never missed a day since

May 2006, Wow. That’s commitment.

Sunday 11/21/10 STUFF A BAG, TASTE, WINE

Sunday 11/21/10

I’ve been TRYING to not schedule “stuff” on Sundays.
I really just want to relax. Been fairly good at accomplishing this goal –
yet the inevitable errands are still unavoidable….

Cimg1066
neighbor Denise runs an annual food drive
at Thanksgiving for the food bank where she works.
Cimg1067
EVERY YEAR Denise gets more people involved & the donations
increase pound by pound. Let me know if you are interested
in being involved via food or $$$ donations.
We’d love to have you!

And PLEASE shop at GIANT — they donate all the bags!!! hundreds of them!
Cimg1075
WHO is getting a surprise gift from HELEN?
Cimg1076
TASTE was on our errand list today.

Cimg1077
TASTE has vats of Balsamic vinegar & olive oils that you
can try before you buy. Some are really quite nice.
Cimg1078
Trying FIG BALSAMIC VINEGAR (didn’t get it).
It was good but we bought others.
Cimg1079
Pomegranate Balsamic vinegar.
Liked this one too!
Cimg1080
Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar…..
did not love this one…
Cimg1081
WEGMAN’s the grocery store near us, is now
equipped with wine vending machines.
Not sure how it works because it was
CLOSED on Sundays…….
yea, I don’t get that part — I mean isn’t is
supposed to promote convenience?

Speaking of WINE…..
Do you know what WINE you want to serve with THANKSGIVING DINNER?
Are you going to someone’s house & need ideas of what to bring??
If you haven’t seen my blog about what to serve, here it is:

maybe you are wondering “WHERE can I buy the WINE?”
here are a few ideas (for those living in proximity to moi):
A
As you know – I do like Phillip’s Fine Wines
located in Stockton, NJ.
Tell Dick Phillips, the owner, Helen sent ya!
B
Princeton Corkscrew is also a GREAT PLACE to shop for wine.
Princeton is also a fun town to tool around….great shops/restaurants.
Cimg2000
Here we have our Pennsylvania Wine & Spirits Shop….
don’t be like this guy – wandering around aimlessly…
take my list with you… sometimes you can
even find someone knowledgeable to help you!
D
the last place I’d like to suggest is MOORE BROTHERS.
they offer 3 Locations. NJ, DE & NYC.
You will be offered personal & knowledgeable service.
Beware if you get Greg Moore — he likes to TALK!
(but in a good way…..)

HAPPY WINE SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!

if anyone needs more specific help = please let me know!!!

always positive,

Helcha 🙂

“NYC dining in downtown Flemington”.
Seriously – if you have NOT been here yet despite my ranting
about it on Picture of the Day – let me know & I will personally
escort you here. You HAVE to eat here.
Call now 908.788.7050 & make a reservation.

Same story as the longhorn — these guys are usually
WAY UP in the pasture & I haven’t been able to get
good pictures of them.  I guess today was my day !

Who can tell me the difference between an Alpaca & a Llama???

Friday 11/19/10

The ORIGINAL PLAN was to meet up with a few friends & attend
the “GRAND ILLUMINATION” at Peddler’s Village –
an outdoor shopping “mall” near us but HELEN had to work late
(which is ALL GOOD!) so we’ll have to do the Grand Illumination
next year…..PLAN B was dinner with neighbors Roman & Denise.
Cimg3167

Denise was kind of in the mood for a BURGER & Ted’s is pretty much

the only place to go for that mood!!!

Is there one near YOU?

http://www.tedsmontanagrill.com/

Cimg3163
love the pickles they serve instead of bread.
TASTY & way less calories….

Cheers to our night out!!

It appears Michael liked it!
Cimg3171
I always get the same thing – I don’t even look at the menu.
George’s Cadillac  – beef burger rare no bun
with cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce & bacon…. pretty tasty.
This was a little overcooked.

I never even ATE a burger ’til I was 40!!!
and TED’s is pretty much the ONLY place I will.

Denise got the GREEN & HOT burger
with Jalapenos, Guacamole & Monterey Jack Cheese

thirstyday 11/18/10 Sierra Nevada Beer tasting

 11/18/10

We usually attend the Hatboro Beverage Master Craft Beer Club tasting
but when we heard they were doing Christmas Beers we said NO THANKS!
THEN we heard it was postponed to another date – so maybe when it rolls
around we’ll have change of heart? In the meantime, Michael had an
assortment of Sierra Nevada beers in the beer fridge
& thought we could have a few  guys over to try them……
