Habits I believe can become our greatest ally or worst enemy.
We can be either the slave or the master,
the “creature” with passive acceptance like,
“It’s just the way I am…” or the “creator” of habits
that consciously says, “This is the way I will be.”
We create our reality by the habits we choose for ourselves.
I prefer to know that I am responsible for the habits in my life
and I can choose those that will help me be the person I want to be.
I am not my habits, but I am the one in control of them.

Saturday 9/18/10 Biking to New Hope via the Scarecrow Festival

Saturday 9/18/10

I was looking forward to wearing my new bike jersey.
We didn’t really have a plan — just “go biking”.
I was suppose to go to the Scarecrow Festival tomorrow but
if I could cross it off my list today it gives me more time to
do other stuff tomorrow,,,,,,

Cimg0526
DON’T RUN ME OVER jersey — I like the message –
but not the jersey – it is kind of longish…..

(we rode 44 miles today – that’s over 1,000 miles for the year!!!)

Cimg0528
then it says THANKS in reverse so drivers can see it!

I actually got compliments & THUMBS UP from drivers –

it was kind of cool……

I only had ONE brush with death today……

Cimg0567
we cruised past a PUMPKIN PATCH on our journey
Cimg0568

PUMPKIN PATCH – we’ll have to drive by later this month –

i know there will be many more pumpkins….
Cimg0570
loves this…. we saw this girl taking her HORSE for a walk…..
we NEVER saw this before…..
Cimg0573
here we are at the Scarecrow Festival!

Cimg0586
i took this picture because it was the
DUMBEST scarecrow!!
Cimg0588
this scarecrow was a “trivia tree” – it was fun —

What did the skeleton order for dinner?

Who did the ghost invite to the party?

What kind of dog does Dracula have?

Friday 9/17/10 – dinner with friends @ Arpeggio Restaurant

Friday 9/17/10

Went to dinner with long time friends Mary & Chris.
Mary & I went to grade school together.
Her family lived the military life & lived all over until now…
FINALLY…she’s HOME!!

We went to Arpeggio  – sort of in the middle of where we both live….

Cimg1676
Arpeggio is a byob restaurant — i brought this bottle
of LADERA Cabernet Sauvignon –
Michael’s mom gave it to me for Christmas 2007.

(thanks Betty!!!)

Cimg1677
i tried their grilled calamari & would

NOT recommend

you ordering this. It was probably the worst
calamari I ever had.

If you want AWESOME grilled calamari/squid
go here: D’Mitiri’s at 3rd & Catharine in Center City.

Cimg1678
Mary brought this wine

BOURASSA Symphony —

it is quite awesome – in fact – we’re going to
share a case

(Vanessa – you’re included!)

as Mary gets a special “deal”
since she is a member.

Arpeggio grill – We most likely will NOT be going back.

The food was not very good & the service was worse than the food.

We did meet one of the bus girls EMILY who was supper nice

& efficient. We told her when she becomes a server

we will come back!!

Thursday 9/16/10 The Beer Store

Thursday 9/16/10

Our friend Michael from the bike club asked if we wanted to go on a “recon mission”

to check out the new Beer Store that opened last week.

Of course we said YES!!!! The new Beer Store is near our house.

Ironically – it is called The Beer Store…

located at 488 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA.

Cimg2679

for those who don’t understand our excitement about a beer store….

In Pennsylvania you normally have to go to a Beer Distributor

(not a convenient store or gas station, or grocery store)

and you HAVE to buy a CASE of beer.

At the Beer Store you can buy six packs and even mix & match beers.

Cimg2680
The Michael’s going into The Beer Store
Cimg2681
They had cases of beer …. that kind of looked like wine……
Cimg2682
Michael’s trying to figure out WHICH beer to buy…..
Cimg2685
Chris the “bartender”.
The store will soon offer samplers & bar snacks….
it’s kind of weird for a beer store to offer this
Cimg2686
I made some friends – I know this surprises many of you….
On my left was BRIAN and on my right his son Kyle.

I even invited them to the next weeks Beer Tasting

that Hatboro Beverage sponsors — do YOU want to come?

Let me know…..

The owner of The Beer Store — making sales….

Avery Brewing IPA.   We liked it.

Chocolaty, dark beer. I liked it.    Michael, not such a fan.

We all liked this beer.

Tonight our Bike Club

was sponsoring a meeting
held at the Doylestown Library –

about 20 minutes

from Ivyland – near the Michener Museum where

we were on Monday night.

Cimg0513
inside the library — in case it’s been awhile for you….
when is the last time you were IN a library??
I certainly do not go enough! I LOVE books & reading 🙂
Cimg0510

our speaker Dr. Dorsey with a club jersey.

Dr. Dorsey is a cardiac surgeon & avid cyclist. He spoke to our club tonight

about Induced Cardiac Arrhythmias following Exercise.

He was a very informative speaker & inspired lively conversation afterwards.

Cimg0516
funny – when we walked in our friend TOM’s son MATT
was sitting at a table with his friends — we weren’t
expecting to see anyone we knew!!!
Taps
Stephanie’s has quite a nice variety of beers.
We approved the selection & most likely we will return
