Tuesday 5/14/13. Day two Winebow training

Out for an early morning run. Our office is across the street from our hotel.

Some of the wines we tasted today. It’s crazy, right???

One of the sales educators made us dinner tonight. Spanish Paella. It was delicious.

Monday 5/13/13 Winebow training

Today begins a week of training with my new job

It’s been VERY challenging but I think I’ll get it!!!!!

My gym for the week. Way different than LA Fitness & Kristin.

Today’s wine tasting…….really. It’s work.

Wine tasting class. We blind tasted about 36 wines.

After dinner. 1/2 the class went out afterwards. It was fun meeting everyone & learning “tricks of the trade”

5/11/13 Biking / Washington Crossing Brewfest

Washington Crossing Brewfest.
We rode about 26 miles.
We “earned” our beer tasting rights.

after a slight delay we made it to the Brewfest.

It was QUITE busy but still a manageable crowd.

The pizza was delicious!!!!

Friday May 10th 2013 first Wine Education THEN Wine Festival at Lincoln Field

Friday May 10th 2013
Today’s Wine Class was on Southern Italy.
Our company is big on Education.
That’s good, because I like to learn 🙂

We tried these 12 wines today.
The region where the wine is grown affects
the flavor profile.

Tonight we were pouring wines at the
Philadelphia wine festival 2013.
This is about 3PM – before the crowds amass.

That’s Kristin.
She is by far, the BEST instructor I’ve ever had
in all my “gym career”.
She’s awesome. I need to let her know.

Lunch with friend Mary today.
We ate at Blue Bell Country Club where she lives.
I wanted to see Mary & also poke my head in
to talk to Jason who is the Beverage Manager.
High Hopes they become a GREAT account of mine.

friend Marguerite & I are giving this tree,
a mini red Japanese Maple, to Mary
as a memorial to her mom. She is planting it on her
front lawn so every time Mary leaves & comes home
she’ll think of Mom, Marguerite & ME 🙂

Mary’s mom passed away while I was away on vacation
& Marguerite lives in Hawaii so neither of us could
be there for Mary. We wanted to do something
more than just send flowers.

Wednesday 5/8/13 gym, sales calls, Dogfish Tasting

I can’t say the new job hasn’t been stressful.
I NEED to go to the gym.
I’m LUCKY my schedule allows it!

I met with Antoni the owner of KC PRIME.
He was super nice & I think he will become a
Great Customer.
Have you been here? Do you know Antoni?

I stopped at this place TJ SMITH to cold call the wine buyer.
He wasn’t there so I just scoped out what they had going on.
Somewhat lame wine selections. Not sure we would be a fit?
I’m just learning how to assess that.

Villa Barolo is a little fancier.
They do have a nice wine list.
They buy from all the “regular” wine reps.
I have to figure out a unique approach to get
our wines in there. Anyone know Chef Lo??

Chef Lo is the owner & he might be a tough one
to get through to – I’ll try my best!

later… a few of us headed out to this FUN EVENT.
It wasn’t exactly a tap takeover but they offered
quite a few Dogfish Head selections.

After Dogfish tasting – it was time to make a Sales Call!
friend Frank the Chef told me the owner of La Fontana
can be found at his bar around 9:30 at night….
so off to work I went…..
Bill, the owner, talked to me briefly but I didn’t
get the “real receptive” vibe.
We’ll see…..
