Thursday 1/24/13 Wine dinner with Wine School Classmates

*been out of town hence why a slight hiatus on Picture of the Day.

Our teachers from Advanced Wine Class

invited us to dinner at the restaurant school

where class was held each week.

This is the one I brought

I adore any wine made by Erna Schein

this was a tasty red blend

we started with a crab cake on top a pretzel puff

There was a mushroom ravioli under that sauce –

it was soooo good I wanted to lick the plate…..

but didn’t……

1/23/13 gym, INTERVIEW, wine tasting

1/23/13

my new “thing” is – I get to the gym early

& go on the Stair Master until class starts.

I like to start my day with the GYM.

get it done with – then I don’t have to make

excuses later to not work out…..

I had a meeting here today for a wine job..

The interview went really well.

I have a 2nd interview on Monday with the big bosses.

YAY!!!

It’s a good feeling to have someone have confidence in me.

Especially someone that wants to hire me…..

After my interview I went right to my Wine Tasting job.

These are the wines I poured tonight. They’re good.

Sold a couple cases of wine 🙂

friend DON stopped by to say HELLO

& buy some wine – of course 🙂

I also sold some of this…..

I poured this last year at a Charity Event

& it was really tasty.

On sale at Liquor stores for $9.

Stock up now !!!!

1/22/13 Wine tasting NYC, police activity, MADDIE

1/22/13

got on the STEP MASTER while waiting for class to start.

Class always starts late & I had to leave early to attend

a wine tasting in NYC.

Does anyone else do this?

I always take a picture of where I park

so I don’t have to remember!

Trenton is about a 30 minute drive from Ivyland.

Then the train is an hour & 15 minutes.

It’s a fairly easy commute.

I was on an 11:15 train so I pretty much

could sit wherever I wanted.

The wine tasting was being held at Tribeca Grill in NYC.

It was wall to wall people all in the wine business.

Everyone tasting & spitting wine – you have to spit!

In the end I tried about 67 wines.

I’d hate be the one washing all those glasses!

no drinking tonight, just tasting!

Ryan invited me to the event. He’s the rep for our store.

They had food at the event but most people (like me)

were busy tasting wine! We used to always get pizza when

we came up to NY when we worked on Wall Street.

Today I kept with the tradition.

While up playing in NYC there was police activity

in our little hamlet of Ivyland!!!

Monday 1/21/13 MLK holiday, SNOW!!!!

Monday 1/21/13

Happy MLK day everyone.

Hope you all enjoyed your day off -if you had one!!!

I worked today & kept quite busy.

After Michael left for his journey to Buffalo, NY

I woke up to find this:
Chester using Weasel’s toy as a pillow.

This is usually what happens when I come to bed.

The dogs (& CAT) hogging up the bed.

brother Larry made us a tray of Lasagna —

dinner for tonight & many more nights to come!!

It was good & something I don’t often make.

It started snowing on my way home from work.

I wanted to take the dogs for a nice snowy walk.

There Weasel is way ahead….she ALWAYS races us home.

Weasel winning the race home.

Chester takes all the time he can.

He is in NO RUSH to get home.

Weasel should have had her coat on!!!!!

She’s a princess & gets cold quickly.

Chester doesn’t even realize it’s snowing.

He could stay out there all night.

Sunday 1/20/13 gym, DOGS, Interviews…..wine tasting

a million people in class

– the instructor is REALLY GOOD!

after the gym I tried to find dog food that

Weasel likes & will eat. Blue Buffalo is good stuff!

after the gym & errands I took Chester for a run.

I love how his shadow makes him look like a BIG DOG

& I love how his tongue hangs out!

I really didn’t feel like going for a run but I thought

of this quote & motivated myself to JUST DO IT.

I did some homework & made this concoction for the dogs.

Chester is on a special diet for the rest of his life.

I made something he & Weasel can both eat.

I had a bunch of things I wanted to do but

NEEDED, yes NEEDED to get a manicure.

I went with the gel this time bc I need it to last!

I have an interview/meeting on Wednesday

1/19/13 Saturday Volleyball, enjoy by, Chloe the rescue

saw this license plate on my way to the gym.

I got it immediately, you??

Ready for a morning of volleyball.

We played triples for almost 4 hours then a

quick game of doubles.

1/18/13 Beer tasting then Blue Fin for sushi mmmmm

friends Mary & Chris invited us to Blue Bell Country Club

to attend the beer tasting for members.

We know Jason who runs these events so we

get special dispensation to attend.

after the tasting we went to dinner at BLUEFIN

~ a FABULOUS sushi restaurant.

they have this cool trough in the table where

you can store your wine/beer/sake

We tried a Gruner Veltliner tonight & it was

quite tasty!

We also drank this Zinfandel –

the epitome of zinfandel. absolutely perfect.
