Sunday 10/7/12 "Covered Bridge Ride 2012"

Michael putting up informational road signs for

the cyclists where there was a tricky turn.

The route had to be redone bc a truck

broke one of the Covered Bridges

we were going to use for the ride.

We also had the riders on a dirt road

so we wanted to be sure they knew

to use caution.

Saturday 10/6/12 Great Pumpkin, gym, Chester, homework!

The Great Pumpkin of Ivyland

went to the gym this a.m. –

it was quite busy!!!

(and did NOT start on time, in case you were wondering)

took Chester for a run & discovered this Fig Tree.

It belongs to one of our neighbors.

I believe the owner is momma bear,

papa bear & baby bear — that’s what

we have named them as they walk around

the neighborhood in single file.

Do YOU know who I mean??

there were quite a few unripe figs

& quite a few that birds had gotten to.

I rescued this one & look forward to eating it!

Ever have a FRESH FIG?? They are TASTY!

Chester visited the kids neighborhood located

in Warminster Park. First he checked out

Ann’s Choice (where I’ve been trying to get a job!)

next he went to the Doctor’s office.

Dr Luciano is our family doctor & many of

the neighbors see him as well.

We like him!

Last stop was Tony’s Place. Chester was thirsty.

Thought he’s stop in for a drink but he forgot his ID.

Plus where would he KEEP his ID??

It’s not like he has pockets…..

The reading room….

I successfully avoided doing schoolwork for most of the day but now it was time to sit down & do some studying.

This weeks lesson is on Germany, Austria, Hungary & Greece.

Not ONE mention about Vizslas when reading

the Hungarian section!!

it was Be Kind To Animals Week.

Shouldn’t it be every day??

Don’t step on caterpillars!!!!

10/5/12 dead "animal" , work & Taco Suave

discovered this when I came downstairs this morning

and the rest of the dead animal was in the

hallway….. RIP

a customer showed me his shopping list &

I HAD to get a picture of it!!

GOOD vodka, CHEAP champagne…. LOL

co-worker Jeff brought in Pizza Beer for us to try

but I was busy working the tasting table & it was

all gone by the time I got back to the employee lounge

“so good it deserves a wine glass……”

I don’t think so!!!

Went to dinner with neighbor Denise at Taco Suave.

It’s the craziest restaurant.

You’re never sure you’ll get what you order!!

But the food is always good.

Authentic Mexican Cuisine.

my home made Sangria was yummmmmy.

We shared some with a couple who didn’t

know Taco Suave was byob.

everyone freaked out when they brought the Tilapia.

I guess we were expecting a filet and not a

WHOLE FISH!!!

yummy Tostadas. They are supposed to be Vegetarian

but sometimes they come with chicken.

Like I said, you never know what you are going to get.

oooops. a little bathtub catches leaks from a pipe

in the restaurant bathroom.

went over neighbor Denise’s house to check

out newly renovated bathroom.

We didn’t test drive the shower.

Thursday 10/4/12 footBALL & BREW

Tonight we were hosting footBALL & BREW.

The plan was to learn about the various styles of beer

& taste them all as well!!

In the summer we ride our bikes & have beer after.

Now that it’s winter we have football on the TV

& try different beers. We don’t really watch

the football…..

neighbor Denise asked for a few ideas

for a some good Sparkling Wines.

This is an Italian Prosecco.

PA cost $15. NJ $12.

this sparkler is also good.

PA price $20, NJ $15.

I had a few stray red wines leftover from school

& from the Wine Tasting I worked.

I used them to make Sangria for dinner Friday night.

10/3/12 gym, leopard car, wine school. hello kitty tape, need Mortgage ?

the gym was super crowded today bc the other

LA FITNESS nearby is closed

neighbor Deb came late (orange)

so she was squished way in the back

had an eye exam today & passed without studying!

My eyes only changed slightly so I don’t need

to get new glasses. yay. saved some money.

Saw this car in the neighborhood

We still don’t know who she was visiting.

I think I need one of these cars.

Wine school tonight was HARD – as usual.

We had a blind tasting & 6 practice tastes.

It’s all so challenging & many times I wonder
