Tuesday 8/14/12 NOT paddleboarding, gym, more than eggs, dinner, dogs…..

Tuesday 8/14/12

THIS is what was on schedule for today (SUP) but the

weather changed my plans!

I was scheduled to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP)

with friend Pete – (NOT pictured)

I wanted to learn how to do it & see if I liked it

(and see if Chester would like it too).

Hope to get a chance sooner than later.

this was PLAN B – the gym.

5 minutes before class starts – 2 people!

5 minutes AFTER class is supposed to start

there are now about 17 people & a dozen more

will roll in then next 5 minutes.

“My” egg stand now sells MUCH MORE than eggs.

The produce is GREAT & the prices are crazy inexpensive.

Neighbors you should totally be shopping here.

Gigantic cantaloupe & yellow squash I got

(besides eggs…..)

I made us a tasty dinner:

Chicken on the grill cooked to perfection.

Tomatoes from the garden. Edamame.

Baked potatoes…..

My goal is to use up whatever sister Pat had bought

& is in the freezer & pantry.

The only thing I’m going to buy for 3 months

is fresh produce. I can do it!

I always kill plants & wish they could tell

me when they are thirsty because I forget.

Unless they are someone else’s plants

that I am in charge of …then I am vigilant.

Michael & I played some backgammon

after dinner. He won tonight.

I’ll win tomorrow…..

I am TOTALLY going to make these!!!

Simple and clever.

“Weave” the bacon strips around the bottom

of a muffin pan covered by aluminum foil.

Bake and you have delightful bacon bowls.

Stuff it with some salad or whatever

your culinary creativity can think of.

Monday 8/13/12 run day, work day, sister Pat update

Monday 8/13/12

gorgeous morning for a run today –

I can’t say I like running but it is a great

way to start the day!

Reason #1 is enough…….

We have VOODOO Doughnut

Bacon Maple Ale at work.

As you all know – sister Pat is away on a “vacation”.

Her first stop was to our dad’s house in Myrtle Beach, SC.

(no, he doesn’t golf).

Pat said the house was a MESS!!!

and there were ANTS everywhere!!!! yuk!

aroma sticks & incense in brother Michael’s bedroom.

He lives with my dad. THAT’s another story……..

THIS is where sister Pat will be staying for the next

two months. It is called the HOPE LODGE

located in Charleston, SC.

Sunday 8/12/12 a day to relax! cooking & dog walk

Our friends invited us biking today but I was pretty

tired from volleyball so we opted to RELAX!

He was replacing the igniter switch on the gas grill.

I plan to use the grill on Tuesday or Wednesday so

I’ll report to you how it is working (or not!).

I wanted to “do something” it was really

nice to just relax…..

I did take the doggies for a walk.

Saturday August 11th 2012 Grass Volleyball Tournament, sick LEOPARD :(

Saturday August 11th 2012

Today’s tournament was held at Carpenter Park

in Horsham, PA — it’s about 15 minutes

from my house – a little closer than the beach.

Nets are set up & everyone has their “houses”

in place – waiting for PLAY!

partner Mel & I took the Silver today.

We were impressed with ourselves since

this was our first tournament together

& Mel’s 2nd Women’s tournament in 5 years

AND I made her play power side

even though she is a weak side player

the same as me. Lots of FUN today 🙂

Michael drove the LEOPARD mobile over to

the tournament & left the top down. Then it

RAINED!!! these two things don’t go together well:

Fortunately for us – my mechanic Dominic happened

to drive by & he helped trouble shoot the problem.

I’m THANKFUL for having the day!!!

We went to the Pour House for dinner –

After today’s tournament I had a total

of 3522 calories that I could eat

without going over my allotment!

The signature BUCK BURGER was my dinner

tonight & 1/2 is for lunch tomorrow!

It has cheese, pork roll & a fried egg.

Good to have occasionally, certainly not

all the time…..

Wine List PLEASE!

I like winding & dangerous roads –

they lead to interesting experiences…..

Michael biked today & was HAPPY that our

favorite rest stop, a French Bakery has

finally re-opened.

C’est la vie has been closed for a

few months due to a fire.

sister Pat is GONE!

She left at 3:30 a.m. to catch a jet plane.

Don’t know exactly when she’ll be back –

but we are guessing 3 months.

with that said there is currently an opening for

house sitter, cleaning person, grass cutter,

cat feeder, grocery shopper, sous chef, sandwich maker,

DVR setter, dog watcher, errand runner & much more.
