Solebury Club Cafe

after yoga today I peeked into the

Cafe at the club – quite nice –

a little (LOT) different than LA FITNESS…….

sister Pat bought this Pasta —

I guess it is supposed to be better for you

because it’s made with Quinoa.

It was tasty!

Pat made the pasta the night before &

today I fried up some with a little butter

& grated locatelli cheese. It was good.

Have you ever tried FRIED Pasta/Spaghetti?

loaner car I got from the Lexus dealership.

Our SUV is 11 years old & they STILL give us

a loaner car. We love this dealership.

This car is a hybrid CT 200h.

It rode really nice, only 3k miles on it

~ it had the New Car Smell.

mmmmmmm.

7/11/ 2012 not just eggs, new Dryer, CLOUDS, JOB???

in honor of today’s date 7/11, I thought

I’d post a picture of a 7 Eleven.

Do you have these convenience stores

where you live??

The Farm Fresh egg stand now has WAY MORE than eggs.

They have baby tomatoes, banana peppers, jalapeños,

eggplants, basil, oregano & tomato plants.

Have you been there yet???

Bring exact change as they have an honor box!

my next stop was Solly Farm.

I needed strawberries for my tequila concoction.

Apparently strawberry season for our area is over

but the ones they brought in from Canada were

DELICIOUS!!!!

marinating a small batch of jalapeño/strawberries in tequila.

it’s best I don’t make a BIG BATCH.

you know why…..

it’s hard to see in this photo so you’re going to have to trust me. sister Pat found a tip on how to get your stovetop

grates (is that what they are called?) looking BRAND NEW.

You put them in a Ziploc bag with ammonia,

let them sit overnight & presto –

LIKE BRAND NEW!!!

today’s deviled egg variation:

(I try to use ingredients I have on hand)

avocado, bacon bits & shredded cheese.

These are a perfect snack to have on hand!

We got our new dryer today.

The guys used this strap on device

that made it EASY to carry the dryer

up/down steps.

7/10/12 birds, gym, wine, JOB!

Every day has new possibilities!

right?

baby bluebirds won’t be with us much longer –

they are growing up FAST! They are 2 weeks old.

Maybe they will be a around another 5 days.

gym class ALWAYS gets started late…..

I don’t know why? IN five minutes there

will be 20+ people in here…..

We get deliveries at work almost every day – it never ends.

Like a mailman — I hope we don’t go “postal”

with our job that never has an ending….

picked up a few nice summer Rose’s for a friend

both French.

They are nice dry, light bodied good for summer wines.

The Coteaux is 100% Gamay grapes.

The Tavel is a blend of 5 grapes.

I like it A LOT.

Sunday 7/8/12 Publick House, again!

I made something different for breakfast —

scrambled eggs with avocado, cheddar cheese &

sprinkle of bacon bits.

Michael gave it a “VERY GOOD” so I guess my

new concoction was a-okay!

Chester has a part-time job as an dog model.

He is quite handsome!

Michael made a date last week with

neighbors Roman & Denise to do to the

Publick House since it was the grand opening

weekend.

It had shrimp AND bacon –

what’s not to like??

Michael got the “Wycombe Burger”

(Wycombe is the town where Publick House is located)

it’s a burger with scrapple & a fried egg.

He liked it but it had to be eaten with a

knife & fork.

Saturday 7/7/12 Biking & movie QUILL

today the temps were suppose to be so HIGH they

could melt you. We met some friends EARLY (7 a.m.)

at Holicong Park and went on a 37 mile bike ride.

We came here to the ACME Screening Room.

the “theater” has a big screen & a couple dozen chairs,

they do offer complimentary seat cushions!

We saw the movie QUILL.

The documentary-like story of a yellow Labrador Retriever guide dog for the blind named Quill. We follow Quill from the litter, his selection to become a guide, his life with a foster family until his first birthday, followed by highly specialized schooling in guiding the sightless. He is then paired with a blind man named Watanabe Mitsuru who is at first reluctant to rely on Quill. But Quill’s great patience, gentleness and skill eventually wins him over and they become inseparable friends.
