Thursday 7/5/12 Hickory Kitchen, Bike & Brew

Thursday 7/5/12

Img_4422
this was the aftermath of a storm we had
the night before. The storm shook the house.
It sent Chester & Michael to the closet…..
Img_4423
the chairs & tables were strewn all over the deck.
When was the last you used STREWN in a sentence?
Img_4424
After  a week of running & boot camp today I opted
for YOGA instead of another boot camp class.
I NEEDED to stretch. It was good.
Glad I went.
Yoga is FREE on Thursday’s at the Solebury Club.
Let me know if you would like to join me.

Danny gave me a gift card to Hickory Kitchen for my birthday (October). I’m finally using!

Hickory Kitchen in Doylestown, PA.
A good 20 minute drive from Ivyland.
Img_4427_jpg
We made friends with Mike the owner.
Img_4429
this was pretty tasty & it provided lunch for the
next day too.  It was pulled pork with brisket & cheese.

Img_4429a
they had this Orange Vanilla Polar Seltzer.
It was delicious. If you ever see it BUY IT!!!

I LOVE my insurance company. I’ve only had
good experience with them.  I reported my tow
claim from the Leopard Mobile & the check is already
in the mail!!!
If any one needs more information contact
my guy David Hewitt – I love him too.
Always super nice & helpful.

Tell David I sent you!!!!

Img_4433
my TREK mobile….. still haven’t named my bike.
Well, on four square she’s called
Trek WSD 5.2 – that’s the make & model.
a good one!

one of my favorite jersey’s: SQWAK!!!
P1050182
it was me & 8 guys for the Thursday night ride.
The heat scared away the girls?
We rode 26 miles (or was it 28?).
A good ride all in all!
P1050185
friend Kathy sent me an envelope of goodies.
She sends me the dog calendar from the previous
month which you know I used to decorate envelopes.
This month I got bonus stuff in my envelope.
Thanks Kathy!!!

P1050186
Me, neighbors Tanya & Denise —
this was at the Tag ends of the
BREW portion of Bike & Brew…

Tanya was leaving for Russia the next
day & we wanted to be sure we had
her picture just in case she got “TAKEN”.
Anyone ever see that movie???

Safe travels Tanya!!!!

4th of July 2012 working out, new plant, shopping, dinner!

4th of July 2012

This was the most relaxing 4th of July I’ve had in FOREVER.
We usually have a few parties to go to but not this year.
It was nice for a change to RELAX!!!!

Img_4404
Happy 4th of July Everyone 🙂

Img_4413
Chester faking sleep trying to get out of a morning run.
We only ran 2 miles today. We got a late start due to
the rain. And is was HOT out. Very Hot.

Img_4414
we usually BIKE on 4th of July (typically 63 miles)
but Michael is taking it easy so I went to
Boot Camp class instead.

Img_4415
I wasn’t buying EGGS today!!!!
Last week I saw they had Basil Plants for sale
& I HAD to get one – they were good
looking plants & I needed one!

Img_4416
Here is my new Basil Plant.
I met KEN – the chicken (& plant) Dad….
he was super nice & gave me a big planter to
keep the Basil plant in instead of planting it in the garden.
He also advised on the kind of soil I would need.
Basil plant 4 bucks. Soil $6. kind of funny!

Img_4417
Here she is!! Are plants females??
The Basil plant needs a name.
Ideas/Suggestions are welcome.

Img_4419
went to HOMEGOODS to buy a cushion
for the Adirondack chair. Struck out 😦
Anyone know a good place to buy outdoor cushions?

Img_4420
I did see this cool turtle statue.
Thought Michael might like it.
He said he already saw it & didn’t seem too thrilled.

Img_4422
a few dinner supplies.
All our 4th of July cooking will be indoors.
It was 99 degrees & humid outside.

P1050176
sister Pat made us a “hoagie salad”.
kind of like a sub sandwich but with extra lettuce
& minus the bread. Michael doesn’t really like
salad for dinner so instead I made him dead cows.

P1050177
My version of a “buck burger”
(menu item at the Pourhouse).
A burger with pork roll & a fried egg on
rye bread. Michael said it was
“VERY GOOD”!!!

July 3rd 2012 broken LEOPARD mobile!

July 3rd 2012

Img_4403
started the day with a Boot Camp class…
& went right to work from the gym.
it ended up being a looooong day
Img_4409
My remote wouldn’t work on my car & when I
used the key to unlock the door apparently I
enable the security system which disables the car.
Img_4410
I had to get a tow back to my mechanic in Hatboro.

I was finished work at 5 & the tow truck got there
around 8 – it was HOT waiting…. but I kept myself
entertained…..
Img_4410a
HOT DOG!

Img_4411
Here’s the LEOPARD mobile “home” at my mechanics.
I got home around 9pm (after leaving at 8 a.m.!).
It was a long day!
Img_4412
I decided to have a refreshing Margarita!!!
and watch America’s Got Talent that I had recorded.
I know…. an exciting start to the holiday weekend!
or what seems like a weekend to me as I am
off Wednesday & Thursday.
Img_4413
room for margaritas too…….

It was an inconvenience having the
LEOPARD mobile break but it was all
good in the end. No reason to get your
panties in a bunch. Just deal with it!

Monday JuLy 2nd 2012

Img_4396
my baby bluebirds a week old!

Img_4399
Michael in the hospital….
His back has been hurting recently
& today he could hardly get out of bed.
I thought I was going to have to call
an ambulance!
Img_4400
He got x-rays & some drugs then we were on our way.
He seems to be better but not sure if we will
be doing a 50 mile bike ride tomorrow……
Img_4400a
they brought this girl in while we were there.
I felt really bad for her bc she was in a lot of
pain & crying “HELP ME!”!!
I wish I could have found out what happened to her.
Img_4401
for dinner sister Pat made these veggie dumplings using
wonton wrappers. They were delicious.
Img_4402
she also made these tasty treats –
dessert dumplings with nutella & bananas.
mmmmmm!
Img_4404
I was hoping to do some reading
left over from the weekend —
but I never go to it  😦
Now I’m days behind!

Sunday July 1st 2012 Watering, bird store, brother ray’s for dinner

Sunday July 1st 2012

Img_4374
It’s been SUPER hot here on the east coast but
it’s summer so I guess it SHOULD be HOT?
Img_4375
it was so hot I even watered my plants –
Basil & Cilantro – really the only herbs I use.
I need expand my repertoire of herbs….
Img_4376
besides watering I did some major “trimming”.
before yesterday there was a bush in front of the hose.
Michael was “hiding” the hose. WHY??
Are we ashamed to have one??
I couldn’t get to the house because of the plant
blocking access so I just cut it down.
If Michael noticed he didn’t say anything.
Img_4377
this is Seeton Turf warehouse – I discovered it on my
run with Chester the other day.

Img_4378
They have lots of turf, bird & ornamental products.
Img_4379
I needed some bird seed so I thought I’d try theirs.
We’ll see if I keep getting the Cardinals to my feeders.
Img_4380
they also give a $1 coupon for each $10 you spend.
Guess it keeps you coming bak?
Img_4381
Went offer to brother Raymond’s & wife Rosemary’s
house for dinner. we had some tasty appetizers.
Img_4381a
I brought this bottle of Grüner Veltliner.
It’s a variety of white wine grape grown primarily in
Austria, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

Img_4381b
the dog’s tasting notes:
absurdly good. complex, solid and focused.
if you see this wine in the store: BUY IT!

6/29/12 over Billy & Robin’s house

6/29/12

no morning run pictures as a storm came through
and changed those plans. Chester hid out in
the closet.  Worked all day (logged 4 miles
on the pedometer)  & after work
went right over to our friends
Bill & Robin’s house.

Img_4364
Billy’s dad passed away & he had some
friends & relatives over sharing memories.
Img_4365
Robin showing us her broken kneecap.
She was demonstrating batman flying
down a staircase – don’t try this at home!!
