Saturday 3/24/12 Seafood Saturday

Saturday 3/24/12

Our friend Michael W. who bikes with has
Seafood Saturday every week. It’s his thing!
He invited us over tonight for dinner. Seafood, of course.

for the record, I still do not think a Tuna Fish salad Sandwich
should be considered seafood.

now that I am MEMBER!!!!!
 — I had to go pick up my key at
FRED’s private breakfast club in New Hope, PA

A little place for a little breakfast for a local crowd…

with no sign and an impenetrable locked door.

Fred’s is a members only breakfast club.

Our exclusive club offers breakfast 7 days a week.

The atmosphere is simple, the friends abundant

and the coffee is always free, but you have to get it yourself.

It’s all Michael’s fault — he bought a snow blower!

Sunday 3/18/12 "down the shore"

Sunday 3/18/12

I was at the seashore (Wildwood, NJ) with my friends
Connie & Marguerite.  Friend Mary came later at night.
We call going to the beach “Going down the shore”.
I guess it’s an East Coast thing??
We were staying at Connie’s sister’s house
which we named “Peggy’s Palace”!

Img_3473
On our way to WaWa (the name of our convenient stores)
for a Saturday morning coffee.

Peggy’s Palace it at 9th & Ocean.
It’s a 1/2 block to the  beach.
Quite convenient.
Img_3476
WaWa has these cool height markers on the door.
I’m more than 5 ft & way less than 6ft.
Img_3477

Img_3478
Marguerite really liked this –
not sure what they are called?
Do you?  Vines on a trellis?
Img_3479
I SAW A CARDINAL.
I knew it was going to be a GREAT DAY!

Cardinals are not common sights at the shore.
Usually you see seagulls & pigeons.

P1030731b
after dinner….
We played the game Apples to Apples,
Have you ever played??

The judge (a chosen player) draws a “green apple” card
on which is printed an adjective (“scary”, “frivolous” etc.),
and places it face-up on the table for everybody to see.
Then each player (except the judge) chooses a card
that they think is the best match for the green apple card,
and places it face-down.
The judge decides which noun is the best match for the adjective.
