Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone.
I will be heading to the seashore to celebrate
(celebrate having off on a Saturday!)

I hope everyone finds one of these:
A FOUR LEAF CLOVER

Each leaflet represents something:
First is for hope, second is for faith,
the third is for love, and the fourth is for luck.

Irish Saying
There are many good reasons for drinking,
One has just entered my head.
If a man doesn’t drink when he’s living,
How in the hell can he drink when he’s dead?

gorgeous Cabernet to pair with dinner

2006 Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards

 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve

Garnet color. It’s balanced with a medium/full body.
Smokey chocolate, raspberry and cranberry on the nose.
A bit hot… As it opens up it is fabulous and smooth as the tannins fall in line.  2006 Cab does not disappoint!

Tuesday was our Anniversary

I got Michael some new beer. I can’t go too wrong there.
He didn’t think you could buy Bigfoot 2012 until the Fall.
He was surprised!

getting the dogs out for a walk today.
I hope this doesn’t mean we will have SNOW in July.
How interesting would THAT be??

definitely a night for spitting.
We had Sherry, Port, Cognac, Whiskey, Gin & Rum

one of the students brought these in for us to try.
I opted for the 9PM train instead…..

There’s been a Black-Capped Chickadee
hanging around the neighborhood.
Maybe you’ve seen it our HEARD it??
listen here:

I’ve had some Red-Winged Blackbirds hanging around too.
This what they look like and sound like:
Img_6158
this is an annoying starling – sunning himself on the
neighbors roof.  I don’t like these birds as they
are mean & they scare away the birds I DO like.
AND they eat the food I put out for the Bluebirds –
who I DO like……

Altos Las Hormigas Malbec 2011

Clip_image002

Altos Las Hormigas Malbec 2011

Medium Ruby red color.

Pronounced aroma of black fruits blueberries & GRAPES!

Dry & fruity with low acidity & light tannins.

Fairly high in alcohol coming in at 14.2% (woo!)

Deep flavors of plums & raisins, lots of fruit.

Fuller body with a long smokey finish.

Would pair well with heartier dishes – possibly braised ribs, fuller body pasta dish or Chocolate cake! (really!)

drink, eat, drink. repeat.

2011 The Pinot Project Pinot Noir

Pinot-project-pinot-noir-2011

2011 The Pinot Project Pinot Noir

Pale to medium purple in color.

Pinot Project has a pronounced aroma of strawberry jam, black currants & spicyness.

It is fruit forward , not super dry & slightly oaky.

Medium to full body.

pronounced Raspberry & CHERRY on the palate. mmmmm

Silky & smooth , easy drinking.

Pair this with poultry, pork & if you want to get creative use a cherry reduction sauce on your dinner . This would pair wonderfully with that!

CHEERS & Mangia!!!
