Sunday 7/24/11
WE wanted to beat the heat & get in an early morning bike ride.
It was going up to almost 100 today…..
We got started around 7 a.m. & finished by 9 a.m. –
with the rest of the day to do whatever we wanted!

Saturday 7/23/11
Long story short.
I was scheduled to play in a volleyball tournament that was cancelled
because of the extreme heat we’ve been experiencing.
A few of us got together & played some pick up volleyball instead
of playing in the alternative tournament that wasn’t cancelled.
We had A LOT of fun & played A LOT of volleyball.
It cost us no money & we played MORE volleyball in less time
than if we had competed in the tournament.
Looking forward to our next pick up date!!

When we fill our bodies with the right foods, they perform well.
When we fill our heads with learning, they won’t easily stagnate.
When we fill our minds with healthier attitudes, we will have a
better outlook. When we fill our talk with more gratitude, we will be happier.

As you all may know we are suffering through a HEAT WAVE.
I’m the last to complain about the weather but I think this
latest batch qualifies as “complainable”?
I guess we are still alive & EXPERIENCING the weather –
so that is good……..

POSITIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY
——————————————————————————————– I like living. I have sometimes been wildly, despairingly, acutely
miserable, racked with sorrow, but through it all I still know quite
certainly that just to be alive is a grand thing. — Agatha Christie

As you most know it is HOT here in Ivyland.
We usually bike after work on Thursday nights
(unless one has broken ribs or has to work late).
I knew there was NO WAY I would want to come home
after work then bike in 100 degree heat –
so i got up early & left for a short bike ride at 5:30 a.m.

She couldn’t make the party.
My friends Mary, Marguerite & I celebrated her birthday with her in spirit.
We ALL turn 50 this year – Connie is first in line!
We have know each other since first grade at
Resurrection of Our Lord — we were 5yrs old.
How many friends have you had for 45 years?

So you’re 50!
Congratulations on reaching the half century mark.
It’s amazing how many changes have happened just in your life span.
Look forward to even more amazing changes over the next 50 birthdays!
Forty is the old age of youth; fifty is the youth of old age.
