I saw this advertisement in the train station today

& didn’t realize

sushi & frozen yogurt were the “NEWEST TREND”.

Did you?

WE had incredible storms Thursday night & my regular train

was out of commission so I drove to another station.

When I use the Jenkintown Train I always park

illegally at this office building. I’ve never been towed,

yet. But I ALWAYS wonder if my car will be there

when I get a back after work. It was.

sister Pat made us a tasty dinner: steamed clams,

corn on the cob & our mom’s tasty cucumber recipe.

The appliance repair people are coming tomorrow to

take a look at my wine cellar – it needs servicing.

I had to remove all the wine so they could work on it

Wednesday 6.15.11 The Last Supper

Tonight we took neighbors Adam & Vanessa (& Ava) out to dinner at

our regular place Taormina’s for their Last Supper as our neighbors

since they are moving 😦

Salmon topped with shrimp with black olives & capers

in a zest marinara served over spinach

crispy chicken salad

tasty cheesecake brownie (pairs well with red wine)

I got the green light to start doing some “light exercising”.

I was going to ride my bike tonight but the rain had other plans for me.

Who knows WHAT I USUALLY do the 2nd Tuesday of every month???

We have baby Tree Swallows – these babies

are about a week old.

This is the mom dive bombing me!!

She gets really really close!

These are the skies that said

“NO BIKING HELEN”

Rain in the perimeter, scary skies = no bike riding

Sunday June 12th 2011 Warrior Dash – obstacle course race

Sunday June 12th 2011

I was SUPPOSE to race in the Warrior Dash today but my

physical therapist put a quash on that plan.

He did, however, agree to tape my ribs in two weeks for

my next beach volleyball tournament.

Also – he gave me the okay to go back to the gym

for some light lifting, running & short bike rides

(but no falling….!!!!).

Today I went along with the my friends who were

competing in the race. I volunteered to drive & take pictures.

Saturday June 11th 2011 a day at the races – horses that is!

Brother Larry has been on the road to recovery

& has been sick of just hanging around.

Tonight was the BELMONT STAKES in NY

so we went to the local race track to place some bets.

we don’t come often so we never know

what we are doing when we are using

the machines to bet – we eventually

figure it out…..

before the race you get to see the horses –

this is when we figure out who we are

“voting” for — unless we’ve already figured

that out based on the horses name

jockey mounting? i guess that is what it is called?

horse 1a was all crazy – Larry & Pat both bet on him & WON!
