Bird Monday 5/23/11

Danny & sister Pat took this photo for me –

IT was a SUGARPLUM sighting —

each year we get a duck couple come visit –

and we sit & WATCH them like we’ve never

seen ducks before….

doesn’t take much to amuse me!

We have TREE SWALLOW eggs!!! so in a couple

weeks we will have babies 🙂

Less mouths to feed for the parents.

the weather has not been quite conducive

for baby birds this year

A robin nest that survived the winter –

we are wondering if another Mom & baby will

move in? I’ll keep you posted, of course!

5/22/11 leopard mobile, hello kitty, Grace’s Christening

the Leopard Mobile was in for a wash.

(look at the dirty wheels!!)

I take it to WHEELWORKS abut 20 minutes from Ivyland.

They hand wash it here & they do a GREAT job!

after the “car spa” I went to T J MAXX

and found this adorable HELLO KITTY

bathing suit. If only they had my size……

2T might fit my right leg……

Today our neighbors Marybeth & Chris invited us to

a Christening Party for their new daughter GRACE

5/21/11 Iron Abbey, drive to Ridgefield, NJ

5/21/11

After a morning of NOT BIKE RIDING

(for me at least, Michael went)

– Michael, Danny & I went to Iron Abbey

for lunch & to check out their HOPFEST beers.

we got some samplers – enjoyed some more than others.

Michael & I had to drive to Ridgefield, NJ

for my friend Suzy’s dad’s viewing.

It’s a good 2 hour drive & it looked like

we were driving INTO the end of the world!

it was kind of spooky – torrential downpours!

the viewing & service were mostly ALL in Korean –

so I guess it was not as sad as it could have been.

Suzy spoke English & Korean when she talked so

at least we could understand something!

Friday 5/20/11 visiting the Brookreson’s

Today we went over to our friends Jesse & Molly’s for dinner & drinks.

2005 Mollydooker Enchanted Path –

This was the wine I chose for my last night ALIVE as the

world was ending on Saturday. I wanted to drink a good one

& it certainly WAS. If you have a chance to buy this wine –

do yourself a favor & buy all you can!

Mavis was sure to make & wear a name tag

so Pat would not confuse her with sister Martha

Tonight we attended a beer dinner sponsored by Hatboro Beverages

held at Vereinigung Erzgebirge (VE Club – German club)

with an evening of great food, great beer, prizes and giveaways!

The beer dinner featured the delicious beer from Rouge Ales (Ashland, OR)

paired with wonderful food from theVE Club chef.

We started with Rogue Irish Lager.

It was light – we prefer fuller body beers.

1^st Course:

Mandarin Salad with Rogue Somer Honey Orange dressing.

Beef & Barley Soup simmered with Rogue American Amber Ale –

the soup was DELICIOUS!!!!

3^rd Course:

N.Y. Strip Steak with Rogue Dead Guy Demiglaze, Fingerling Potatoes, & Asparagus

Served with Rogue Dead Guy Ale

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!!!!!

Our friend Jim won this Imperial Pilsner

4^th Course:

Triple Chocolate Cake & Strawberries baked with Rogue Chocolate Stout

Served with Rogue Chocolate Stout

PHENOMENAL!!!!!

5/18/11 broken ribs, voting & broccoli

the diagnosis is in —

I have 2 broken ribs: # 8 & 9.

Lucky me. That means I can’t do the activities

I normally do – go to the gym, boot camp, biking,

play Walleyball & volleyball.

It means I get to relax for a change.

Do more reading & cooking.
Catch up on shows I have on DVR.

Watch movies. Walk the dogs.

YAY.

I AM disappointed to be missing my first

beach tournament this weekend 😦

Yesterday I voted at the local church

we got to vote on fun positions like

Coroner, Treasurer, Borough Council, Judges…..

tonight I am off Walleyball b/c of the rib situation….

I made some roasted broccoli –

it’s really very tasty.

Time to catch up on the DVR shows!
