5/9/11 Hospital Visit

5/9/11
27 years ago my brother Larry was in a serious accident & had a rod
put in his femur. Recently his leg has really been hurting & he assumed
it was from a recent car accident. Today the pain in the leg was
so excruciating  he drove himself to the ER instead of going to work.
After a day of tests it was concluded he had an infection in the leg
& he needed emergency surgery.  He called at 7pm to tell us he was
going into surgery and we shouldn’t come. Of course, we went!
What if “decisions” had to be made????

Img_1790
St Mary’s hospital – 20 minutes from Ivyland.
My second time there this week.
This is where I came for my CT Scan & X-rays
earlier in the week.
Img_1791
We had the whole room to ourselves since it
was after hours.

The first surgery went well but more are anticipated.
It’s serious stuff b/c he could actually lose his leg!!!
Will keep you posted.

5/7/11

Cimg1800
today my friends Joyce & Joanne & I went to Rice’s Market –
they sell ALL kinds of stuff there – new & not new.

Rice’s Market is a 30 acre outdoor market open on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Vendors come from all around, as they have for over 100 years, to sell their goods.
  • Antiques and Collectibles
  • Jewelry
  • Fresh Fruits & Vegetables
  • Amish Meats & Baked Goods
  • Clothing
  • Handbags
Cimg1804
Joyce found this wreath at a thrift shop & brought it
to the “Wreath Lady” to fix it up.
This is BEFORE…….

5/6/11 work, church, Wine School Opening

5/6/11

Amg_1753
What my new office looks like at 630 in the morning.
Originally, I was scheduled to come in late b/c I
was attending a memorial service this morning.
I came in early b/c the day before we did some
big trades & I wanted to make sure everything
was okay with them.
Amg_1756
on my way to the memorial service i saw
the ZOO BALLOON. It’s a tethered hot air
balloon located at the zoo that you can ride
)for a small fortune I am sure).
Amg_1759
memorial service was held for my friend
Kathy’s dad at the
Oreland Evangelical Presbyterian Church
about 30 minutes from center city
Amg_1762
Michael came from home so he borrowed
my car – LUCKY!!  It was a nice day to
be cruising with the top down!
Cimg1794
Tonight was the Grand Opening of the
Wine School of Philadelphia
It’s near my office – not sure if this is good or bad?

My friend Sharon schlepped in from the ‘burbs
& we checked out the new digs.

Cimg1799
corks, corks & more corks……
Cimg1800
Andrea & Al —
I worked Wine Cruises for them this past summer –
remember??
Cimg_1799a
the Grand opening was quite busy
Img_1765
We went down the street to TINTO
– a wine bar & restaurant — but it was PACKED.
we had one drink there then headed to
TRIA — one of our favorite wine bars.
Img_1769
Tria has an awesome wine AND beer selection!
