FIRST a stop at the Ivyland General Store

train ride into Center City

check in was light because there were two nights

That’s a trainer Vivian from my gym –

the Philadelphia Sport Club.

She was leading the morning warm up with the racers.

before you receive your clue sheet you have a mini

scavenger hunt – this one was both teammates

wearing their clothes backwards.

This was our FIRST STOP – we emailed the

Clue Sheet to Pat & she helped us remotely.

Yes – I am a psychic & KNOW what you are ALL

thinking – and the answer is NO – this is NOT CHEATING.

Use of technology/phoning a friend/engaging strangers

is ENCOURAGED!

at the Mutter Museum — funky feet….

doing “Car-eokee” with our strangers…..

On the bus – filling out the Trivia Questions

that Pat had already answered for us.

SEPTA is an approved method of transportation

as well as FOOT POWER.

not allowed – private cars, taxis, bicycles, mopeds,

skateboards, roller blades… you get the picture.

on the subway train heading to South Philadelphia

for Marine boot camp training. YAY.

FINITO!!!

We had 20 minutes left but couldn’t have

finished one more Chasepoint & been back by 4pm..

so we just went back early….

The winner did the whole race in 3 hours – I don’t know how!

My friend Mary was a volunteer today at the

Car-eokee ChasePoint with her son Max.

Her daughter Stephanie came along for the after party.

Tired & dirty & ready to go home…..

we got quite dirty……

on the Regional Train home………

City Chase Clue Sheet

In order to GET the Clue Sheet you had to hand in eight of the ten items:

1. Something made for use during sex

2. What is the temperature NOW in the city where the next City Chase is being held.

3. A two inch stain on your shirt.

4. Something in a Foreign Language.

5. Tell us what equipment you need to take part in the Cliff Bar Challenge.

6. A live animal

7. Tell us what the mpg are for the Outlander Sport 2011 Mitsubishi

8. Both teammates with their clothes on backwards

9. Sing the chorus to Lady Gaga’s Paparazzi song

10. Score of last nights Phillies game.

Once you get the Clue Sheet — the RACE IS ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The race is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

I’ll try to summarize our adventure HERE.

WE had a plethora of FUN & hope others will one day join us!!!

Peanut Soup – it had a fancy name –
i just can’t remember what it was
Griddled blue corn tacos encasing grilled asparagus, jack cheese
& sun dried tomato pesto. Served with black eyed pea salsa

Crispy smashed plantains & wonton chips surround a savory parfait of wasbi crema,
mango papaya salsa & sesame-soy black bean hummus.

Tonight a few of us got together & took neighbor Debbie out to dinner

for her birthday #50! We always like going to Blue Sage Vegetarian Grille-

one, it’s vegetarian & two, the guys usually won’t go there with us

because they are

against not eating meat!

Tonight neighbors & I attended a Fund Raiser for Tommy Ryan.

He is the brother of our neighbor Mauree & he has cancer

so the fund raiser was to help with mounting Medical Expenses.

Blue Sage ROCKS!

Many of us are excited to know this place is being transformed

into a new gastropub called HOP ANGEL – brought to us by the

owner of Grey Lodge, a beer mecca…..

The plan is to carry an assortment of Craft Beers.

It is located in the former space of Blue OX,

formerly Old Brahaus in NE Philadelphia –

about 30 minutes from Ivyland.

My DR’s office is next door so I did the recon after my appt.

Check out the sign BUILT in 1683…

WOW – that’s an OLD building!

danny diehl , sister Pat & I went to lunch at

Maple Glen Pizza – 15 ish minutes from Ivyland.

we heard from our friend Ryno

they have pizza like the famous Mack & Manco’s

on the Ocean City, NJ boardwalk.

The pizza is not surprisingly called….. BOARDWALK PIZZA!

it was really quite tasty but thought it was a

little too saucy. The lady at Maple Glen told us

next time we order just tell them Light Sauce.
