Credit Card signature ( & TIP) story……..

Once at dinner with a big group I signed HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE – and “got in trouble” for the signature…..
(my FIRST TIME “getting in trouble” –  i was actually HAPPY that SOMEONE really looked at my signature for a change….).
In any case — the manager made me sign my real name & as usual I took a picture of it.
LATER — I looked at the photo & was mortified to see I had only left $25 on a $200 bill!!

(b/c you know we always tip generously).  (we had a little wine with dinner – hence possibly the lapse in judgment?).

Signature
In any case — I went back the next day & they were not open but I saw people inside – so I knocked & they
kept saying they were closed/not open yet. Well – I was persistent & got them to open the door.
I told them I accidentally tipped too little & gave the guy another $20. He was pretty speechless…….

That’s my story of the day……..

Monday 6/21/10 Chester’s paw, birds, Concert

Monday 6/21/10

Cimg0951

Chester had a little cut on his leg that was not healing –

so he needed a visit to the vet.

Dr Klingensmith LIKED the idea of taking a picture of

Chester’s paw BEFORE the medicine & a picture in a couple

weeks AFTER the medicine.

That way we can gage the healing process.

Cimg0952
ALL the bluebirds flew the coop 😦
Then later……someone took the nest.

If you know did that who please let me know.

Bluebirds will often re-use the same nest.

Tree Swallows in front of house DAY 9
Cimg0962

I was able to hold my camera up to get a

picture of the empty Robin’s nest in the tree so we could

see what it looks like inside. I can tell you –

it was tight & snug in the tree.

It stood up to the Typhoon we had last week.

The Ideal Time
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If you wait for the ideal situation, it will never come.

If you create the ideal situation, it will always be,

whenever you choose for it to be.

There are plenty of excuses

you can make for why this is not the time to act.

And while you’re busy making those excuses,
someone else is busy taking those same actions

that you are merely considering.

The time is right when you make it right.

Waiting and hoping for things to get better

will just allow things to get worse.

Friday June 18th 2010 Geyser, birds (of course), dinner, pen pal

Friday June 18th 2010

Geyser
there was a water main break off of I-95 –
that’s the main road into Center City Philadelphia
Geyser20too
my co-worker Ray took this picture as he drove into work –
kind of crazy right??
Cimg0917

On my way to work I saw a gaggle of geese with some goslings

Cimg0918
of course I needed a picture!
you know how obsessed I am with my birds!
Cimg0920
I actually was able to get out of the office for
a brief time to run errands when I saw these boys.
There is a High School in town that makes the
“bad kids” wear these shirts when they are in trouble.
Cimg0922
the bluebirds are getting BIG. 15 days old.
they should fly the coop by next weekend.
Cimg0927
momma Tree Swallow with babies 6 days old
Cimg0929
the baby robins flew the coop but are not quite flying –
I hope they find safe hiding spots from predators
Cimg0935
backyard tree swallows 4 days old

(all this record keeping is CRAZY – how OLD they are &

figuring out when they will fledge)

Cimg0943
Stuck a feather in his TREE TRUNKS?

We were on our way to dinner & Michael wanted to check out this park nearby

where we were going for dinner (Bowman’s Tavern).

We saw these tree trunks with feathers in them. It looked kind of cool.

I snapped a photo.

Cimg0944
relaxing with a Cherry Cosmo – pretty tasty
Cimg0946
something I usually DON’T get but did tonight….
Grilled Reuben. it was good – I’m sure Danny will eat the
other 1/2 when he comes home from work.

You’ve got to be JEALOUS!  I have a PEN PAL!!!

June 19th 2010 Beach Volleyball with Suzy in Pt Pleasant

June 19th 2010

My second beach tournament this year.
We usually play most of our tournaments in Pt Pleasant, NJ.
That’s about an hour plus 15 – 30 minutes from Ivyland.
Cimg9786
Pt Pleasant Beach 8 a.m.

(that’s the Atlantic Ocean)

Cimg9787
My partner Suzy – she was checking in with her husband.

Today he was in charge of their 3 girls (under the age of 5)………

Cimg9788
Suzy’s daughter gave her a good luck tattoo 🙂
I was a little jealous of it.
Cimg9789
it was quite windy on the beach. See the broken umbrella?

Cimg9790
Me with my beach friends.
Socorro on the left is in charge of the shower house.
Elaine on the right is in charge of beach tags.
They’re good friends to have…..

We took 3rd overall in the tournament.
It was a GREAT DAY !!!!!!
Cimg9793
Michael biked to the shore to see me play.
113 miles today – he went the long way……..
Cimg9797
after a day of volleyball & biking – we were both hungry.
Rajin Cajun is one of our favorite dinner places.
It is in Belmar – a couple towns north of Pt Pleasant –
on our way home……
I
Cimg9795
It’s right on the water – across from the harbor
Cimg9798

I always get the Swamp Daddy Pasta entree which has shrimp,

artichoke hearts & alligator sausage in a delicious creamy pink sauce.

You get to determine the hotness of the dish –

I always get 8 (on a scale of 1 -10 with 10 the hottest).

8 is invariably too hot but it is my favorite number!

So this time…… I ordered 6 & i think they still gave me 8 –

cuz it was HOT ‘n Spicy!

Cimg9799
we always stop at John Ron Liquors on the way home.
I picked up this delicious Chardonnay produced
by 2480 – their wines are to die for.
Lovely 🙂

POSITIVE QUOTE OF THE DAY
————————————————————————-

We all get report cards in many different ways,

but the real excitement of what you’re doing

is in the doing of it.

It’s not what you’re gonna get in the end –

it’s not the final curtain –

it’s really in the doing it,

and loving what you’re doing.

Let any man examine his thoughts, and he will find them ever
occupied with the past or the future. We scarcely think at
all of the present; or if we do, it is only to borrow the
light which it gives for regulating the future. The present
is never our object; the past and the present we use as
means; the future only is our end. Thus, we never live, we
only hope to live.
